The farm house is a fantastic size and it has fairy new carpets in some rooms of good standing - the lounge was very cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is in need of being brought up to standard - there was a lacking of utensils. No cloth for cleaning sides and very limited cleaning products - the main bathroom could also do with renovating - as for the wet room - very disappointing- it’s in the old part of the house and it was not somewhere any of us wanted to shower. I do not believe the house set up would work if two families were sharing the property. When I booked the house I booked it because it had a games room and just days before we went we found out there was no games room. On arriving I can see why - there was a very small room set aside with a small table tennis table in and a darts board - the room wasn’t fit to stay in even had the children wanted to use it (which they didn’t as the table was in poor state and so small) because the fumes from the boiler were terrible. On a positive the outside space was Brillant, the owners were polite and left us to it. On a side note there were bird or mice in the roof space above the master bedroom and could be heard running across the floor during the night and early morning

Spent a lovely week with family at Ford Farmhouse. The house is huge, with plenty of room indoors and out. The decor is a little dated but everywhere was wonderfully clean. With 4 young children and a dog, we would have felt uncomfortable in anywhere more plush so it suited us perfectly. Games room was disappointing, with only a mini table tennis table, broken darts and squashed plastic skittles. The owner did provide new table tennis set and this worked brilliantly on the dining table in between meals. Downstairs shower room didn't look appealing, but offered far better water pressure than the upstairs bathroom. Livingroom was spacious with lovely comfy sofas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

The cottage was very clean and tidy. Decent big living room for us all to be together. Very quiet and peaceful location and close to an excellent pub and short drive to lots of interesting places. On a negative we were led to believe the house would be 'dressed' for Christmas but whilst there was a very small tree and a few bits of tinsel we were hoping for a bit more than that and ended up buying some more stuff to make the dining room nice for Christmas day. We were also disappointed with the games room as we had expected a normal table tennis table for the children but in fact it was a 'mini' table only suitable for very young children. Also the bedroom on the mid floor has lots of creatures scurrying in the roof ! not sure if mice or rats but maybe not unexpected in the countryside ?

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your recent review, I’m very sorry to hear you didn’t have enough decorations. It’s difficult to judge how many decorations different individuals like, if it was brought to my attention, I would have ensured you had some extra for Christmas to make your Christmas very special at our cottage. We do subscribe to a local pest officer to visit our premises on a regular basis, the movement you hear is from the garden and the shed next to the house where grey squirrels are playing and seeking shelter. It’s an upside and downside to being based in the countryside.

What an amazing Farmhouse, perfect location, perfect size. In need of a little redecorating but still very cosy and extremely warm. Would definitely re-book.
