Lovely little cottage, we didn’t want for anything, great facilities. Lovely location and good local pubs for food, drink both of which were dog friendly. Only slight negative was it could have been cleaner in places, some surfaces missed, crumbs under sofa cushions and bed linen a little tired. This didn’t spoil our stay and we would definitely go back. Beautiful setting, sweet gardens and very handy parking.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was very cosy and relaxing. It was an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. All equipment and facilities worked well, although we struggled getting to grips with the heating system we worked it out in the end. We appreciated the chocolates and prosecco but were slightly disappointed with the lack of the little touches, i.e. kitchen roll. All in all, we had a great holiday and would be happy to return.

Lovely cottage, with nice touches made for a welcoming stay. Some kindling to get the log burner started (not just logs) would've been helpful.

Property was exactly as described which is good. As is often the case with rental properties, cleanliness is a bit of a subjective view and could have been improved. However we discovered that the dishwasher wasn't working properly as well as leaking. Local amenities are limited to two pubs, but we new that anyway, and access to shops etc was within 5 miles

Lovely cottage in village location, great food and atmosphere at the Bell Inn (if you like Indian cuisine), shame there is no local shop but Nailsworth and Minchinhampton are both less than 3 miles away. Lovely walking in the surrounding countryside, but a little hilly for cycling. Several National Trust and English Heritage site in the area.

Sadly for us there was building work in the next door cottage during our stay. We had no privacy and the builders used our car park space. The enclosed part of the garden was not attached to the cottage so we had to walk the dog there on a lead, and it was overlooked by the builders. It was noisy on occasions and not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Whilst we are truly sorry for any disturbance our guests had, we would like to respond to reassure future guests that this is the most tranquil idyllic cottage in a very quiet village. We were under the impression all work was to be finished at the beginning of June and were unaware of any disturbance, as our guests did not inform us until they complained to Cottages.com, after they left. Had they done so we would have been able to do something about their issues. The work next door entailed a finishing off, returfing a lawn & the fitting of a carpet in their house. We understand work is now finished. We have 2 beautiful gardens, either side of our 2 car parking space ( unusual for the Cotswolds.) The first garden has been called a 'secret garden' in the past & is private, in front of the cottage. It is surrounded by mature shrubs. The second enclosed garden, merely a 30 sec walk through the first garden & lies behind the car parking and has a yew hedge growing nicely at the border with our neighbours.
