Our 2nd time. It’s still the best. We will come back again. The cottage is so cosy that our 9 year old son just wanted to stay in. We feel a treat for staying the cottage. The welcome pack. Wow! And the owners are extremely kind. You can’t ask for more. Glassington is a lovely town. We enjoyed going to the old post office tea house and the farm shop in Skipton. All in all, it’s perfect. Thanks Alison to be a wonderful host.

Stayed at the barn just before Christmas. The barn was tastefully decorated for Christmas and very welcoming. The cottage is a lovely size and very well decorated and lovely and clean. We never cook when we go away but the cottage was very well equipped if that's what you like to do. The cupboards were well stocked with every kind of dish or pot and pans you could possibly need. We only used the large on suite bedroom as there was only two of us. The bed in there was lovely and comfy. Also the linen was a nice quality. Plus I hate when you go somewhere nice then get grotty coat hangers. Not here they are all nice matching quality wooden ones and plenty of them. Also lovely soft towels. We were going to use the log burner but the cottage was so nice and warm we never bothered. The pub is about 5 minutes walk and the food was delicious. It was very quiet when we were there so sat and had chats to the staff after eating our meals. It is a very welcoming place. The Old School tearooms is lovely too with some nice cakes. The snacks people were eating looked very good too. From the cottage you can go on lots of nice easy walks. Grassington is not far to walk and if you go via the river it's lovely. We made it sound so nice to our daughter that she has booked for April and what is good is she has asked us to go with them.

The barn was a high standard and ticked all our boxes. Warm and had all the amenities that we have at home. Would recommend to friends. Welcome pack most appreciated. Did hear the lorries from the depot next door first thing in the morning but only for a short time. Only reason why we would not stay again is that we like to go to different locations.

Just wow! Luxury accommodation and no stone unturned in providing a quality stay. Under floor heating, Bang & Olufsen TV, full Sky package and amazing pub cuisine on the door step. Fantastic, thanks!

One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Comfortable, cosy and a great place to stay. Welcome pack was very thoughtful. Lots of walks from the doorstep and a friendly local pub which does good food. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful house with everything you could possibly need plus a few extra touches that made our stay really special. A lovely welcome pack on arrival and our girls really appreciated the goodies left in their rooms. Lovely hosts who made sure that we had everything we needed, even a back up phone number for a couple of days when they were away. Another reviewer mentioned noise from the haulage company nearby but I can honestly say that despite having the windows open constantly we weren't disturbed at all. Excellent walking from the front door and a gorgeous location. We would definitely go back.

We had a great family holiday at Flatts Barn, Hebden. The accommodation, garden and parking was first class with everything you could possibly need. The owners had kindly left a lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated. The owners were easily contacted and we would highly recommend staying at this property. We didn't want to come home and hope to return in the future.

The main problem with the property is that it is right next to a large transport and road repair yard with noise of heavy trucks maneuvering and workshop hammering etc. You don't expect this during a quiet countryside holiday. Also the exit and entrance onto the property is via an electric gate which exits directly onto a main road. A driver has to pull onto the road in order to get the correct angle to enter the gates. Also the front door lock was extremely stiff to operate and my wife (82) was unable to turn it. This would be extremely dangerous in the event of a fire. It would only require 5 min work with a file to fix the problem. I left a message with the owner asking for a repair but didn't hear from him. Both the owners were hard to contact by phone. This is not a 5 star cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are very sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay at Flatts Barn. The haulage yard is our family business. It’s been part of the village for many, many years with local people living in close proximity. It’s mainly empty for most of the day and it hasn’t been a cause of concern for any of our many other guests some of which are returning customers. The electrical gates haven’t been a problem either, it’s no different to turning into a normal junction. I spoke to you in person on two separate occasions during your stay and at no point did you mention any issues with the door. If I had been made aware of the problem I can assure you it would have been dealt with promptly. As for being a fire risk there is another main door within the barn entrance. We are always on hand to help our guests or deal with any matters arising as mentioned by previous customers who have stated how attentive we’ve been as owners if required. My telephone is on 24/7 and I will always get back to missed calls etc because of my business. My wife didn’t have any missed calls or voicemails from you during your stay so maybe you were ringing the wrong numbers but they are clearly stated on the blackboard in the kitchen. As for not being a five star property we have just won a Customer’s Choice award for 2018 making us one of the top 15% holiday cottage stays within Yorkshire but I don’t suppose we will always meet everyone’s expectations, which seems to be the case here.
