Lovely quirky ex fisherman cottage in perfect location near quay side with added advantage of parking place alongside. Well equipped and comfortable. The stairs help with the daily work out. Would stay again if in the area.

We four adults shared the cottage this September for our annual painting week away. As it's an old fisherman's cottage - with the ground floor store converted to a kitchen / diner it does have idiosyncrasies. The first is that - as they warn - it is split over four floors with steep, winding, narrow stairs between them. because it's built against the hillside it gets bigger as it goes up. The ground floor is smallest and has just one small window. However the lighting is good and we soon settled to cooking, eating and even painting down there. There's also a side, shared but private set of stairs with a door to the lounge on the first floor. This is the easiest route to get luggage in and out. The stairs then lead to a second floor with a little gate to the utility room and a basic outside loo. Then on to a small terrace with chair and table (also a painting location) and on again to a barbecue terrace which we didn't use. The second floor has a large double bedroom and a good bathroom with an excellent shower. The third floor has three attic bedrooms and a tiny, basic bathroom. There's plentiful hot water - but it is almost dangerously hot. All the furniture - beds, sofas etc were comfortable and in good condition. The decor is not modern but homely. We quickly settled in and enjoyed its wonderful location at the heart of the village. It all worked! We had been concerned that there is a fish and chip shop on the lane but it closes by 8pm and supplies good fish! There are two real bonuses: - A car parking space - these are like gold dust in the village. The lane (Albion Street) is very narrow in places so only one of our cars fitted - the other - an Audi Q5 - had just a centimetre or two spare so only did the initial luggage drop. After that we had booked the Fisherhead car park which is a short and pretty climb through back streets. - There is good Wifi from the local service installed in the house.

A really nice break in an amazing location. The cottage is a lovely place to base a holiday whether its local walks or long treks. Clean and tidy with all you need... and the welcome pack went down very well ! Definitely recommend this for a stay.

Loved our stay!! Worth the flight from Canada! Ideal location, great kitchen, comfy beds - our grandchildren enjoyed the toys. Keeping the contacts for next time we visit our daughter in England!
