From the head of the Holy Loch, north to Glenbranter, there are dozens of walks along the shores of Loch Eck and elevating up the sides of the Glen on both sides with Benmore (Beinn Mhor) being one of the highest summits in the area and a popular vantage point. Glenbranter Forest is known for its abundance of nature and wildlife including red squirrels. For mountain bikers, the Loch Eck Loop offers magnificent views of Beinn Mhor and from the summit, the west coast islands of Islay and Jura. Local attractions include Pucks Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens, and the Kilmun Mausoleum where Saint Munn landed after leaving Ireland in the 6th century, allegedly, where the Holy Loch name was derived. The famous Loch Fyne Oyster restaurant is just over 30 minutes by car. There are two coffee shops in the next villages as well as a post office. The nearest shop and pub are within a couple of miles.
Please note before booking. The property is in small village with limited amenities. For more amenities you will need to drive or take public transport to the nearest town of Dunoon 17 minutes away.
