I would like this report to be helpful and factual. Whilst the owners, whom I never met, were helpful and charming, they were completely unaware of the problems with Fir Tree Cottage. Essentially Fir Tree is nice cottage in a quiet location with a lot going for it but it needs a major shake up, reorganising and refurbishing throughout. Everything is worn and weary, the conservatory main door sets the scene, the standard lamp is broken, the kitchen - a half inch of washing up liquid, frying pan filthy, couple of tablespoons of sugar, ceramic hob oven has a control mind of its own, no hand was basin in the utility room / kitchen loo, the main bedroom central light doesn't work, door side bedside lamp in pieces, door latch broken, bedroom TV doesn't work, cheap duvets of compacted rayon circa 1990s, the other bedrooms similarly equipped with beds and furniture just crammed in, bathroom shower tap fell off, shower head clogged, no water glass, glass rack broken, etc etc. Everything is run down and badly thought out - and, most tiresomely in this computer age, no internet. Probably the best thing would be for the owners to stay a few nights there themselves
