This detached property enjoys a beautiful waterfront location with its own private mooring and superb views over the River Thurne and a National Trust wildlife reserve (which featured in the BBC1 TV series ’Secret Britain’). Boasting a games room with full size snooker and table tennis tables, and a cinema room with a 75" TV, it offers spacious accommodation for larger groups, as well as a first floor balcony where guests can take in the abundant birdlife. For the fisherman, this part of the Broads offers some of the best coarse fishing anywhere in the UK (fishing licence required). For the nature enthusiast, everything is on the doorstep - walking and cycling can be enjoyed along a network of quiet lanes and the river and the Broads can be explored by boat, which can be hired directly from the boatyard next door.

Winterton-on-Sea is a short drive away with its wonderful sandy beach and dunes. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the north beach is home to a colony of grey seals. The BeWILDerwood Outdoor Adventure Park at Horning offers treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and more - all adding up to a great day out for children. The fine city of Norwich, with its cathedrals, castle, museums, theatre and vast array of cafés and shops, is half an hour away. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area, which include Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Park (one of the finest Jacobean houses in East Anglia), the beautifully landscaped Sheringham Park and the magnificent Blickling Hall with its woodland and lakeside walks. Horsey Wind Pump is only 3 miles away (and a good destination for a boat trip). Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.

Lots of room for all. In a great position. The balcony was very good to watch the boats go by and provided a very good place for all to appreciate the wonderful weather. Brilliant for paddle boarding so close to the water and great provision for storing them. Boat hired for a day from next door they were very helpful. Close to the beach at Winterton good for dogs. All in all a wonderful holiday for a mixed age group we all had a brilliant time!

We had a wonderful week. Ferry View was perfect for our family group with a great view from every single window - that wrap-around balcony for plenty of chilling, chatting, a bit of yoga and soaking up the view of sunsets, the Thurne and Heigham Holme. Chinese water deer appeared at the water´s edge one evening. The jetty and water on 2 sides of the building with sails over to Hickling Broad and Horsey Mere beckoning were great. The games room was good fun and the cinema room gorgeously comfortable for a flop down one night when we were all totally shattered. Everyone, from 13 to 89 years old, thoroughly enjoyed the house. Explanation: VFM 9/10 because we were at peak season so highest price Cleanliness 9/10 over all - inside the building was fine, glass barrier to balcony could be cleaner for views

A lovely property in a fantastic location, our whole party had a great time with an opportunity to fish (or otherwise enjoy the water) from the property and plenty of space inside for everyone, avoiding anyone getting into each other way. The games room and cinema are also a great addition. The only thing that we felt let it down was the cleanliness of the windows (especially the glass feature surrounding the property on the second floor) and the obvious problem with spiders and spider webs that appear to be left especially at the higher levels, having said this it did not detract from the great time had by all and the enjoyment of our stay. Great and efficient communication with the property owners, and we would definitely book and go again and hope to do so in the future.
