Haven Waterway SSSI is Wales’ largest estuary and a birdwatcher’s paradise, with a wondrous variety of wildfowl and waders as the tides ebbs and flows. Relax and watch the comings and goings of the pleasure boats as well as commercial shipping - the Irish Ferry sails in and out twice daily - witness a true masterpiece of navigation as it manoeuvres its way up to its berth!
Take a visit to Pembroke with its ancient town wall and mighty Norman castle, steeped in history, is a 5 minute drive. Tudor and Georgian houses line the main street with its mixture of pubs, restaurants and shops. Henry VII was born in the castle which is well preserved and offers a glimpse into the medieval life style - there are lots of events staged here too including falconry displays, a ’Knights School’ and guided tours.
