Staithes is a beautiful area to visit and stay in the cottage it’s self had everything we needed only issues are no Wi-Fi but we happily lived with that the freezer did not work and there was a damp smell on the ground floor the cottage could do with a bit updating but we loved the whole holiday

The positives are that the cottage is in a good position in the village and has good access to other areas we wanted to visit. There is a very limited space for one car, but this is a definite positive to have as parking in the village is rare. There is a small garden, but unfortunately it is shared with neighbours. The cottage is dog friendly, quite clean but tired. It has a nice feel when you ignore the many negatives. If the owner would only spend some money on refurbishment and maintenance then this would be a nice holiday cottage. The negatives are obvious when you enter the cottage. The interior is poorly equipped and is very dated and uncoordinated. No welcome book with helpful information, instead there are extremely old notes left on the walls, the notes are now faded, almost unreadable and curled up with age. The small narrow kitchen is overlooked by a passage way it has a very old box freezer that hasn’t worked for months, a fridge that has a section that almost freezers and a mishmash of utensils and crockery. The lounge has no clocks that work, a tired decor, a curled up worn rug. There is no internet. Unfortunately, there was no reception on our mobiles within the house or the village. The TV is Freeview and often it didn’t work owing to a lack of signal. The 3 piece suite was comfortable and solid, but cushions and curtains are old and unattractive. Unfortunately, the ceiling was painted in strong colours to match the curtains. The bathroom had no shower and the cold tap drips, again tired interior. The double bedroom was again a mishmash of items with a wardrobe that is plastic 60’s in style, it was placed in front of an unsuitable mirrored wall. The bed is a small double with an uncomfortable old mattress. The wonderful bay window is the star with views towards the sea, but there was no window cushion and the old windows needed replacing. The upstairs twin bedroom had similar issues. Even with all these negatives we were able to use the cottage to have a nice stay to use village and tour the area. The owner just needs to listen to the many observations of the cottages shortcomings and rectify them, then it would be a lovely little cottage.

Although this lovely old cottage is old fashioned inside it is comfortable and clean,,there is no shower but the water pressure is not good so a shower would be no good,,its a lovely warm place and very ideal if you have dogs..just one problem the freezer did not work
