The Northumberland Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Northumberland better!

Within easy access of both Berwick and Alnwick, this pet-friendly bungalow is also close to the Farne Islands for nature lovers.

Within easy access of the Northumberland coast, Etive Cottage is a charming, detached, single-storey holiday cottage with an enclosed garden area especially designed for pets. “Give your dogs the holiday they deserve” is the owner’s motto, and up to four well-behaved dogs are more than welcome at Etive. Set behind electric gates and with secure off-street parking, this property is located by the A1 which will take you northwards to the historic town of Berwick and beyond or southwards to historic Alnwick and its pretty neighbouring villages. Whilst the border-town of Berwick is known as ‘the last town in England’, Alnwick is famous for its ancient castles, gardens and cobbled streets. This part of the country draws visitors from around the world to savour its natural landscape and enjoy some of the many local outdoor activities available in the area. Historic locations also feature prominently as both Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne’s Holy Island are close by. Nature lovers will want to head out for the Farne Islands (accessible by seasonal boat-trip from the village of Seahouses) to see the colourful puffin colonies. Beach 9½ miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Wonderful welcome for both ourselves and our dogs which was lovely. Despite being on the A1 the garden was fully secure and close to all amenities. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped. The only downside was the very noisy road but as a base it was perfect.

A lovely well equipped cottage, the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Was slightly worried about traffic noise but you just don't notice it, have booked to stay again.

The cottage is lovely.Jan and David are very warm and friendly. The welcome pack is just that!Home made apple pie and brown bread were perfect. The only downside is that one week is too short. The dog guests are as well catered for as humans. All in all a perfect place to holiday.

What fantastic cottage and very nice helpful owners very very dog friendly we took 3 German shepherds and they even provided blankets so they could sit on the sofa no rules or restrictions the only 1 downside is that it is on the edge of the A1 a very busy fast road but there was electric gates on the drive so you can shut them before you get the dogs out if the car and the little garden was secure everything was within a 10 min drive but lovely dog walks round the cottage once you get away from the road

The cottage is ON the A1, but once inside the cottage the road noise is minimal. The cottage is SO welcoming for dogs, the owners had thought of Everything a dog & dog owner could need. The property is safe for dogs having an enclosed garden. Our dogs were small terriers & would have found the smallest gap to 'escape', but we never had any problems. The Kitchen had just about everything you could possibly need, all in very good condition, however we did find a lack of storage space for our food. It had a large window with a wonderful view of the countryside & distant coast. You can just about see Bamburgh Castle & Holy Island with binoculars. The Lounge & 2 bedrooms were very comfy & warm . The Bathroom clean & bright & the Shower very easy to use. The owners could not have been more friendly & extremely helpful making our holiday one to remember with utmost pleasure.

Lovely bungalow but the main road spoilt it a little for us. The owners were lovely people and very helpful and kind. The accommodation was first class and immaculately clean. Our little dogs were made to feel very welcome indeed.
