Set in the seaside town of Whitby, this terraced cottage is minutes away from shops, bars and restaurants.

Set in the heart of this seaside town, this charming terraced holiday cottage, which has been fully redecorated for the 2018 season, was built in the style of a fisherman’s cottage, is minutes away from cobbled streets lined with antique curio shops, cafe bars and restaurants. Guests booking Endeavour Cottage can arrange for a pre-ordered food hamper to be available on their arrival (at cost) from the local deli, ensuring your holiday gets off to a great start, with a taste of the local cuisine. There are also museums, art galleries, designer clothes and homeware shops and a cliff-top golf course to enjoy, as well as ghost walks, galleries, museums and a stunning harbour to stroll around. Climb the 199 steps to Whitby’s famous abbey, the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and admire the spectacular views over the town and harbour. With many festivals held in the town throughout the year, there really is something for everyone. The delights of the picturesque village of Robin Hood’s Bay, and the seaside resorts of Scarborough and Staithes are easily accessed. For an alternative day out, board the North York Moors steam railway in Whitby for a memorable journey through the Esk Valley, and step back in time with a stop at the ’Heartbeat’ village of Goathland. Our second family christmas in this beautiful cottage. It is so warm & cosy & has everything you need for a family even with the added stress of christmas! The decor is beautifully done & definitely feels like home from home with the added advantage of being at the seaside! The location to Whitby centre is fabulous & the parking space was also appreciated.

Lovely well equipped cottage, close to harbour and all amenities. Easy accesss to trains and buses. Would recommend. Great value.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for your review - it is true the location of the cottage is one of the cottage’s many benefits; it is located on a quiet street just off one of the main shopping streets on the West Cliff side of town.

We have enjoyed a holiday staying at Endeavour Cottage for the past 3 years now and we intend to keep staying each year. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. The location is perfect as you can park the car and walk pretty much everywhere you would want to go. The parking space is very convenient. You can find somewhere cheaper to stay in Whitby but the location and the high standard of the cottage definitely make the extra money worthwhile spending for us. The only negative for me was the late check in (4pm) and early check out (10am). If they could be moved by an hour it would be much better.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; It is great to hear from one of our many regulars! We hope you have enjoyed and appreciated the changes and updates we have introduced this year and will no doubt continue to do. I will pass on your comments about check in times to the agency but I believe the later check in only applies to properties with three or more bedrooms to give our cleaner time to thoroughly clean it before the next guests arrive.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review, as you rightly say it is in a fantastic location with a parking space, outside patio/bbq area and many bathrooms!

Have stayed in the cottage twice now and think it's starting to get a bit tired. It needs a bit of overhaul. The pictures of furniture on the website do not match what's in there. Back door security is poor and drafty. The outside area is dirty and very tired and not a place you would like to sit. The shower in the top floor bathroom is broke and needs replacing. On a plus point the location can not be beat. Maintenance and a bit of a cash investment need to make it a top cottage. New sofa and chairs needed. The adventure cottage next door is on another level look there.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were very disappointed to read your comments and feel they are unjustified for a property, which is constantly upgraded and has facilities, which, in our opinion, make it a perfect holiday cottage. These include parking (very rare in Whitby), three bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom, outside seating area and literally a 2-minute walk from the cottage to the harbourside. Thankfully, your view is very much in the minority and the vast majority of our guests are delighted with Endeavour Cottage.

This cottage is a very good base for exploring the interesting fishing port of Whitby. The cottage is in a relatively quiet byway just minutes away from the bustling centre of Whitby. It is clean and comfortable .There are some issues regarding maintenance problems that need to be reviewed. Also Whitby becomes very overcrowded during the very high season. We all had a very enjoyable holiday and we will visit again.
