Have stayed in the cottage twice now and think it's starting to get a bit tired. It needs a bit of overhaul. The pictures of furniture on the website do not match what's in there. Back door security is poor and drafty. The outside area is dirty and very tired and not a place you would like to sit. The shower in the top floor bathroom is broke and needs replacing. On a plus point the location can not be beat. Maintenance and a bit of a cash investment need to make it a top cottage. New sofa and chairs needed. The adventure cottage next door is on another level look there.

Lovely cottage in a great central location in Whitby. Very well equipped and with 4 bathrooms was perfect for a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. Very handy having a parking spot very close by. Would very likely stay here again. Great value for money.

This is a well equipped house in the centre of Whitby with a very useful, if somewhat tight, parking space. The house warm and welcoming with beds all made up. There is plenty of space for 2 little families with a set of bunk beds in one room. Lots of bathrooms so no queuing. We would definitely book this house again.

A pleasant cottage in a very good position with parking which is a must when staying in Whitby. The cooking equipment could be a bit more extensive and with a little rearranging of the kitchen cupboards more room could be provided for food storage but that said we really enjoyed our holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comment and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. With regard to the cooking equipment we provide the following - 3 sets of plates, bowls and side plates for 6 guests, children’s plastic ‘crockery’ and cutlery, mugs, cups and saucers, wine glasses, tumblers, beer glasses, a cafetière; 4 different sized tureens, 2 glass pyrex stew dishes with lids, a gravy boat, bun tins, Yorkshire pudding tins, cake tin, oven tray, a set of pans, frying pan and wok, measuring jug, glass water jar, egg poacher, egg cups, colander, salad sieve, sieve, cheese grater, milk jug and sugar bowl. There is a weighing scale, small electric blender, there are bun cases, candles for celebrations and matches. We have tried to provide everything guests on holiday may require, we would love to hear what you feel was missing and we will endeavour to provide it. In the last few months we have provided an additional wall cupboard to extend the storage space, there is also additional storage for spare crockery in the cupboard beneath the bookcase. We feel there is now adequate space for food but if you come again please feel free to stack some of the crockery in order to provide more space. If any guests can recommend additional items to stock please let us know.

A comfortable and convenient location from which to explore all that Whitby and the surrounding area has to offer. The parking space by the cottage was a real bonus and although we didn't use them, the patio areas would be a real benefit in warmer weather. Lovely to have the Abbey view from the top bedroom.
