Excellent accommodation, clean, well equipped and located within a friendly village, on a working farm. We had an excellent stay, and became regulars at the local (Lord Nelson). A car is a must for those less able to walk the mile to the village... all in all though a wonderful stay. Thanks to Karen and the family who made us feel extremely welcome with fresh eggs, milk, and a lemon drizzle cake alll in the fridge.

My daughter and I had a lovely week’s stay in The Parlour with our dog despite the weather. The owners were extremely welcoming and we especially enjoyed our tour of the farm. The Parlour is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and well-equipped. We definitely appreciated the personal touches such as milk and fresh eggs in the fridge and quite the most delicious chocolate brownie upon arrival (sorry Karen but I couldn’t not mention it!). We found a lovely park in town (Devon and Scounce Park) for dog walks. It’s not particularly big but it’s well used by local dog walkers so we always managed to find a playmate for our dog. And further afield we had some lovely long walks in Sherwood Pines, Clipstone Park and Rufford Park. We will definitely return to The Parlour next time we are in the area.

Very pleasant family. Everyone friendly and helpful. The Parlour was comfortable and well equipped and despite the gloomy weather, we spent an enjoyable Christmas. We would certainly recommend The Parlour and would be happy to stay there again.

Stayed here for a long weekend with my sister-in-law & her dog. We wanted to get away from it all catch up & just chill & here it was perfect. Our hosts Karen & her daughter Kate were really accommodating (they let us check in earlier than planned) and there was tea making facilities & homemade cake waiting for us on arrival. They took time to show us around the property & where everything was & said they would be happy to show us around the farm (a working beef farm) if we liked. Although we were only a party of 2 & a dog, it was really spacious (even if there had been 4 of us we would have been fine). It was great that both bedrooms were en-suite with showers - really practical. The lounge/kitchen/diner was also large & well equipped, but we were told just to ask if there was anything else we needed. Although we were quite happy we would have felt quite comfortable asking as Karen & Kate were very approachable & friendly. We would definitely come back & bring more of our family with us.
