Beautiful location. Very peaceful location. We walked into minehead daily. It takes about 20 minutes. Easy on the way to minehead, all uphill on way back so certainly kept us fit. If you have mobility issues then you would need to go in car. We went on the steam train, and would highly recommend the exmouth coaster (open top bus) into Lynton and Lynmouth. How the bus gets up the porlock hill is a miracle. Beautiful scenery and counterbury hill into Lynmouth also very steep. Dove Cottage was beautiful and clean. The owners were lovely and would love to visit again one day. The locals were very friendly wherever we visited and taxi service very good if you don't fancy the walk back up the hill.

Fantastic base for your holiday adventures. Very peaceful. A few hills to climb but that didnt bother us. A few cobwebs around and decor a bit dated but all ok with our family. I would definitely recommend and return.

Good location and good to have parking. Would have been better if owner provided seats at front door as others have. Yes there is a communal area but only 1 bench. The main bedroom had only a very warm cheap quilt much too warm for summer and nothing lighter also curtains thin and let in too much light from early hours so we slept very poorly. Also note only enough washing up liquid for a couple of days only 1 toilet roll couldn’t find a dish cloth so just bring a few items with you
