Dotty Cottage is a surprisingly spacious cottage with lovely high ceilings and large rooms. The location is ideal for exploring the Northumberland Coast and is within easy reach of Alnwick, Seahouses, Bamburgh etc. The neighbours were friendly and even gave us some homemade jam and some apples! Superficially it was clean; the beds were clean and comfy but we just felt it was ready for a deep clean. The lights all had cobwebs and the bedside lamps had dusty shades. The kitchen cupboards were a bit chaotic with lots of things rammed in haphazardly - only two decent wine glasses but plenty of sports bottles, sundae glasses, egg cups etc.! And the under-stairs cupboard, well!, a chaotic jumble sale of toys, old kettles and other odds and ends through which we had to search for the high chair (which really should've been left out for us). We really appreciated the toys (great idea!) but felt the cupboard needed a big sort out. The toilet seat had been replaced with a cheap one that slid to the side every time you sat down. There were no welcoming touches - not even a bottle of milk which just about summed up the lack of TLC displayed throughout. It's a nicely set out cottage in a beautiful location and would be amazing with a little sorting out.
