Description

Head off on a luxurious adventure with your loved one and explore the beautiful surrounding area.

If rest and relaxation in snug, well thought out surroundings are on your agenda, look no further than Dairy Cottage, residing in what was previously the original farmyard surrounded by orchards and woodland. This well presented, detached conversion was once the milking parlour on the farm. Take the footpath at the side of the cottage leading to woodland and a nature reserve. Alternatively, try your hand at trout fishing at Spring Hill Trout Waters across the track and catch supper. Nature lovers will also enjoy Brenchley Wood Nature Reserve. There are many National Trust properties in the area, including Knowle House at Sevenoaks where the film ‘Pirate of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides’ was filmed. Chartwell, which is home to the late Winston Churchill and his paintings; Batemans, where Rudyard Kipling grew up; and Ightham Mote, a fine example of a moated 14th-century manor house. Explore castles including Bodiam, vineyards and sample some very fine wines; gardens including the masterpiece at Sissinghurst created by Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicholson. Good rail connections from Paddock Wood to London can be reached in 50 minutes. Alternatively, head to Ashford and take the train to Paris in time for drinks. The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and The Pantiles are less than 3 miles away. The coast at Hastings is approximately 40 minutes. Golf 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Beautiful cottage, exceptionally well equipped, good quality furnishings, spotlessly clean. Very comfortable with sky tv which was an unexpected boon.So many "extras" were provided, milk, home made cake, tea, coffee, all washing up materials, all bathroom necessities. Owners very welcoming and helpful

This is a beautiful cottage in private surroundings, very convenient to visit many historic houses and castles in the area and also the lovely local towns. There are a number of good pubs and restaurants close by serving excellent food. The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard using quality fixtures and fittings. The owners are extremely helpful and kindly left some delicious cake and other produce which was very welcome. We had a most enjoyable stay and will hope to return.

A lovely cottage in a secluded group of farm buildings, down among the twisting lanes. Peaceful

A lovely cottage made special by some extra touches left by our thoughtful hosts. The cottage provided everything that we needed for a week in the country. The cottage is fairly remote and the nearest small shop and pub is about 40 mins walk by road. It may be quicker over the fields but these were too rather muddy when we stayed. We would come again.
