Dairy Cottage is an attached stone built cottage situated in the private grounds of a substantial Grade II listed farmhouse on the edge of the highly sought after coastal village of Warkworth. Originally constructed in 1802 with servants quarters added around a century later this beautiful property formerly belonged to the Duke of Northumberland and rented out as working farmhouse alongside the adjoining land. The entire property which sits within a half an acre has been privately owned since 1989. The servants quarters have been transformed to create Dairy Cottage; a self catering holiday cottage awarded 4* by Visit England. The secluded garden with private patio area is a real feature of this property; an idyllic peaceful retreat to dine alfresco and admire the uninterrupted rural views across fields and countryside towards the coastline and Coquet Island.     We enjoyed our week at Warkworth, the area was really lovely and we went on some really good walks along the river. The nearest town Amble was also very good, with a pleasant walk along the river to get there. We enjoyed a walk around Amble harbour, and their Sunday market. Being coeliac I recommend the gluten free, takeaway fish and chip shop in Amble!

    Lovely cottage, very clean, comfortable and cosy. Quiet location but only 15 minutes walk into Warkworth village for tasty pub meals. The friendly owner has provided everything that you need for a self catering holiday, even including things like a picnic hamper and books, board games and dvds in case of inclement weather. There was also a welcome gift of wine and biscuits. Generous sized garden plus a paved patio area with garden furniture. Great base for visiting all Northumberland has to offer. Would stay there again.
