Cynefin Cottage is the perfect location to uncover this truly wonderful Cardigan Bay Heritage Coastline. It is within walking distance of the golden sands of New Quay where you can build sandcastles, take a dip in the glistening sea or relax and catch some sunshine with your family.

Set high above the cove of New Quay with commanding picture postcard views across the harbour and bay, makes this the perfect location. There’s also 3 acres of land to explore within the Penrhiw Pistyll Estate. A trip to New Quay is not complete without a boat trip from the harbour to spot the resident bottlenose dolphins, grey seals and a huge array of birdlife.

Cynefin Cottage is detached and all on one level, offering a bright and airy open plan kitchen, dining and living room with patio doors leading to your private patio and those glorious sea views. Both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished and thoughtfully decorated throughout, and the galley style kitchen is great for preparing that special meal.

New Quay has everything on your doorstep with shops, restaurants, craft and gift shops along with some traditional Welsh pubs with local brewed ales. The dramatic North Pembrokeshire coastline and Cardigan Bay are all within easy reach to include some truly beautiful beaches with Mwnt, Aberporth and Aberaeron really worth the visit. The seaside resort of Aberaeron is a short drive away with its multi coloured Georgian houses and stunning harbour. Further north along the coast you will reach the historic town of Aberystwyth with large promenade to wander and take in the scenery. There are also shops, cinemas, galleries and nightlife, and a funicular railway takes you up the cliff to Constitution Hill with outstanding views over the bay. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Whilst I would recommend staying here due to the location there are a number of issues which would need to be considered prior to booking: The double threshold to the property is not suitable for disabled persons and it's even problematical for able bodied persons. A new wider step should be installed to stop trips and falls. The shower over bath is not easy to access again for both abled and disabled guests with no slip mat or bath mat to prevent falls. The shower control unit is located too high, not many inches from the ceiling and in order to operate it standing on tip toe is required which is dangerous. It needs replacing as the water runs either scolding hot or freezing cold. We gave up using it in the end! The bathroom blind for some reason is not fixed to the window frame and has to be removed should the window need to be opened. It was found on the toilet sistern on arrival. The bathroom needs updating and is large enough to accommodate a bath and walk in shower..... The description of the property indicates there is wifi. Be warned there is no router located in the property and in order to connect it is recommended to connect to a guest WiFi system which proved to be very difficult and not possible. With limited phone signal connecting to WiFi is essential to make phone calls if required from the property. The kitchen is not well equipped with essential utensils missing. This hinders the cooking of the simplest of meals. The cooker needs to be replaced, it is so old, very inefficient and using it to cook is not a pleasant experience. Overall this property is in need of some updating and is certainly not recommended for disabled guests

This was a fantastic holiday for my young family. We had everything we needed. My only criticism is that the oven is very old and while I doubt that would matter if you are having meals out or on a bbq it was tough trying to feed a toddler using this. The cottage was lovely and the surrounding area beautiful! We are planning to come back!

A great cottage for our family holiday. Lovely peaceful location. It's a nice walk to the beach but the hill is steep! Overall a great stay in a great property. Will return!
