Lovely Welsh cottage, with beams and exposed stonework, close to sandy beaches, Abersoch, Pwllheli and Snowdonia easily reached.

This pair of pretty stone cottages, thought to date back to the 1800s are set near the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula. The drive to the holiday cottages is delightful, miles of sea and fantastic countryside. Set about a mile away from the beaches and coves, one of the most popular bathing spots of the Lleyn Peninsula. ’Whistling sands’ is little more than a mile and equal distance is the popular resort of Aberdaron with its shops and eating houses. Cyll y Felin Fawr 1 boasts a welcoming coal fire and Cyll Y Felin Fawr 2 is ideal for children, the low attic bedroom being a great hideaway. All other resorts of the Lleyn Peninsula are within easy driving distance such as Abersoch and Pwllheli as is the Snowdonia Mountain Range. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

This was a last minute booking for a cheap and cheerful walking holiday with good pathways. I usually go to the Barmouth area so wanted somewhere new. The cottage is very remote up a long country lane and seems far detached from the world but the setting was olde worlde idyllic. I always stay in self catering cottages and whilst I would rate this one up with the best it certainly goes well beyond for comfort and equipment. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding and towels fresh and clean. The kitchen was nice but the amount of kitchen ware was superb. The poaching pan came in handy as there is a little farm just down the road selling free range paddock eggs at the gate which were delicious and well recommended! I do prefer the rugged mountainous landscape of Mid and South Gwynedd to the rolling green fields of the Llyn but if that's your thing and enjoys miles of stunning coastal walks I highly recommend Cyll y Fawr.

Wonderful property in a idyllic location, the property was even better than described. The village close by was picturesque, a lovely beach, cafes and gorgeous food at the ship hotel along with friendly greetings, made the holiday even better. Easy reach of other beautiful places.

This is a lovely cottage, very clean, well equipped and very homely. The owner was really helpful and responded to telephone calls quickly. It's a bit of a walk from the beach in Aberdaron but only 5 minutes in the car. Lovely, peaceful and quiet and good for walking. Whistling Sands was only a mile away however is not dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely cottage! If you want a quiet retreat this is the place for you, however if you like amenities on your doorstep then maybe this is not ideal. Lovely walks in this area and beautiful scenery, whistling sands is very close but no dogs are allowed in the summer. Aberdaron beach is a wonderful alternative and the local chippy is very nice.
