What we love

Description

Offering fantastic surroundings with wonderful views and a sandy beach, this is ideal for family getaways or a romantic retreat.

Enjoying lovely views and sunsets over Loch Sween and Jura, Cruinn (ref URW) and Moy ( ref UXU) are comfortable holiday cottages on the owner’s working farm. Cruinn stands beside natural woodland, and Moy is situated within a wooded glade and offers opportunities to watch deer from the windows or explore the seashore where seals and otters may be spotted playing. This secluded peninsula abounds with birds, flowers and wildlife, with seals, otters, deer and badgers. There are several sandy beaches and opportunities for walking, cycling, riding and boating. Ancient Castle Sween, Kilmartin Glen and the ruined chapels at Kilmory and Keills add archaeological interest. There are opportunities to view the beavers in Knapdale Forest or visit Taynuish Nature Reserve. Lochgilphead (16 miles) offers shops, restaurants, a golf course and an indoor swimming-pool, while a seafood meal can be enjoyed at picturesque Tayvallich or Crinan. Shops 16 miles.

Cruinn (URW) and Moy (UXU) can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.

What a fantastic little place a spot of heaven. We had a fantastic hoilday and booked to go back next year while we were there as it was so special. We visited with our children aged 9 and 1. Was great to be of the grid which was why we booked. Amazing views, peace and quite. Comfortable and well equipped.a visit to the lovely beach is a defo. My daughter loved the sheep in the field across the road and spent most of the time enjoying them. Read on other views people criticising the drive to the cottage yes it is a single track road but it's a tarmac road with plenty of passing points. Owners great and very helpful. Can not wait to go back again next summer.

Moy is a cosy cottage in a stunning location! You are immersed in nature and have breathtaking views from morning until night. Local shops and restaurants are not far away. There are amazing historical sites close by and beautiful sandy beaches. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner and had the most wonderful time.

A lovely cottage with fantastic views. Extremely comfortable and warm. The only down side to the cottage is the long single track road to reach it - a bit unnerving when you are not used to driving on them.

The drive to Moy cottage is not for the faint hearted and it is not for anyone looking for lots of pubs and restaurants but if you are looking for a bit of time away from it all with spectacular views and lovely walks I could not recommend Moy enough. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, especially considering we had booked it early in the year and at one point they were predicting snow at Easter and that was the making of our holiday. Sitting out on the patio with a glass of red wine and the view over Loch Sween was honestly heavenly. The cottage itself was scrupulously clean and came with everything you could need right down to a corkscrew ( A bit lucky considering we had forgotten to pack one). We had taken the dogs and even apart from the lovely walks we were able to take them on were quite happy pottering around the garden and surrounding woodland. At night when they were completely knackered they fell asleep at the patio doors looking out onto the hills, I'm not sure if they were guarding or they just enjoyed the views as much as we did. I could honestly wax lyrical about it all day but on a more practical note it is best to take all your food and drink with you, we did drive into Lochgilphead which is lovely and has lots of nice little arty shops etc but I don't fancy having to do it at night just because I forgot the toothpaste.
