A few tweeks would make all the difference, eg clean the oven, make the bathroom door lock properly, and install a shower head fitting at normal height. However the seating and the beds were very comfortable and it was nice and warm. The modern ambience of the building was very pleasant. Being set on the village green among the trees, by a smart pub and pretty cottages but with access to Subury suited us.

Overall a very comfortable holiday. So handy for quality pub next door that served excellent food at a reasonable price. A good base to tour the area with mostly quiet roads.

Received a lovely, friendly welcome on arrival from Paul with good local advice on where to eat, shop etc. On the positive side beds were comfy and good quality towels. Overall the cottage was dark and looked tired. The kitchen was adequate but not as clean as I would like and cooker, microwave old. Outside was in need of a tidy up too with parking a little tight (but we do have a big car). Be good to have candles or torches that work to help if there is a power cut (as we experienced). Good pub next door and a great butchers open in the mornings on the green. Highly recommend.

The value matched the property. The location was pretty but the property itself was unkept and needs a little tlc. We found it lacked the basic necessities you would find with other lets. I.e. salt and pepper, bleach, hand soap. Did expect a garden and a car parking space was surprised to find the car space took up the garden. For these reasons we wouldn't visit again and wouldn't be recommending to anyone.

A nice property in a quiet village near a busy town. Well equipped and nicely decorated. Lots of walks nearby for the dogs. Enjoyed our stay at Crown Cottage.

Lovely location in a quiet village. Cottage was exactly as advertised with a warm welcome as well. Perfect for dog walking, pub visiting and meeting very friendly people. A very enjoyable and relaxing week.

Crown Cottage was a sanctuary for us during our 3 month relocation stay. A beautiful cottage, perfectly placed in the heart of Hartest amidst beautiful country walks for us and our dogs to enjoy.
