English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

After a day spent exploring the beaches, ancient towns and royal estates, what better way than to relax in front of the cosy wood burner.

Nestled within a small, quiet residential barn conversion complex (original buildings are 200 years old), Crowberry Barn has been thoughtfully decorated and presented to offer everything needed for discerning guests looking for a relaxing retreat, that is still close to all the best attractions of the north Norfolk coast. Close to the delightful Georgian village of Burnham Market with its artisan shops, cafés and pubs, Crowberry Barn is just a short drive away from the stunning sandy beaches of North Norfolk.
Nearby beaches include Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea with its narrow gauge railway, wide sandy beach and picturesque quay, popular with locals and holidaymakers alike, and you’ll soon discover why if you decide to sample its delights for yourself. Drive east or west from here and you will discover a picturesque route littered with pretty coastal villages, beaches, harbours, quays and marshes. Beach lovers could probably find a new place to relax and listen to the waves everyday.
This habitat also provides excellent bird watching opportunities with Titchwell and Cley Marshes both within easy reach. History buffs will find they are close to lots of National Trust properties and stately homes including Holkham Hall and the Sandringham Estate, and they should make time for a visit to the Hanseatic old quarter of Kings Lynn and the medieval city of Norwich, with its imposing Norman castle and numerous museums, shops and restaurants too. Add in great places to eat, many of which serve local produce, great walks, including coastal routes and some good cycling terrain, and you will see why Royal Norfolk remains one of the leading UK destinations for ‘staycations’. Back at Crowberry Barn, after a day sightseeing, you can either relax in the peaceful and private garden or by the wood burner, while planning your next adventure. Beach 5½ miles. The cottage on the whole was very nice and comfortable and well fitted out. There were a few issues with cleanliness the windows were dirty inside and out, the bins in the bathroom and en-suite had not been emptied and there were no towels for the second bedroom and what there was in the third bedroom were all hand towels. Good job we brought our own bath towels. The main bedroom was ok for towels but the extractor fan in the en-suite took ages to switch off. There was only one set of front door keys
