Set just outside the village of Killin, the cottage enjoys a peaceful Highland setting with easy access to a wide range of local attractions and outdoor activities. Killin itself is a short disance away and offers a selection of welcoming cafés, traditional pubs and small independent shops, all set against a scenic backdrop. The village is best known for the Falls of Dochart, where the River Dochart cascades dramatically through the centre, creating one of the area’s most photographed landmarks.
Nearby, Loch Tay provides opportunities for paddleboarding, kayaking and lochside walks, as well as simply enjoying the stillness of the water and surrounding hills. The wider area is rich in natural beauty, with the Ben Lawers range offering excellent walking routes, from gentle trails to more challenging hikes with far-reaching views across Perthshire. Wildlife is a regular feature here, with chances to spot deer, herons and other native species along the riverbanks and in the surrounding countryside.
For those who enjoy a slower pace, the area is equally suited to scenic drives, relaxed village strolls and evenings spent outdoors under clear Highland skies. With its combination of space, setting and access to nature, Riverbank Cottage provides a well-balanced base for exploring this scenic part of Scotland.
