Comfortable and warm, amenities of the cottage were good, accommodation was spacious, appreciating its dog friendliness the furniture is slightly tired

Absolutely loved our stay. Colin was very friendly and welcoming. Such a lovely cosy warm cottage for a getaway from a busy city life in London. Would definitely be coming back here again.

Absolutely brilliant! Had a great time with our dog on his first ‘holiday’ lots of places to go in the Forest of Dean. The owner couldn’t be more helpful, gave us plenty of suggestions of places we could take the dog. The hot tub was a very nice added bonus, luckily we didn’t have to share it but a great system if someone else was there! The pictures honestly do not do this property justice! Less than a 5 minute drive to a small town with lots of places to eat and a supermarket

Before reading this you need to know I have OCD so my standards are stupidly high. Also note I WOULD stay here again. I've rated cleanliness a 5 as I feel the cups, glasses etc were not up to standard. In fact the first thing I did was give them all a good scrub and even my sister who isn't as fastidious as me noted the glasses being dirty. I feel the crockery could do with being renewed as some were chipped. There were part used leftovers from previous visitors in the cupboard (salt, flour, soy sauce etc) which I found odd and the fridge will freeze whatever goes on the top shelf. Aside from this the Granary was very clean. Linens were fresh as a daisy and having a washing machine and cleaning products helped tremendously. Comfort is marked down due to the single beds. The sides are wooden and as high as the (very soft) matresses so they hurt to sit down on and are hard to get in and out of. Also as they are wood (very pretty) they creak when you so much as breath heavily. Luckily the master bedroom has a different style bed with firmer matress so it's just the two singles. The master bedroom doesn't have a wardrobe or draws. It has a lovely wall of windows but is a tad too small for more furniture so my mum had to share the wardrobe and draws in the second bedroom. It did have a stand for clothing which would be fine for overnight but doesn't quiet cut it for a week. All that being said I really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for getting out and about. We managed to go to Cheltenham, Monmouth, Bath, Symonds Yat, Bourton-on-the-Water and had a wander around Lydney and the Taurus craft centre. Aside from driving up and down the road to find Court Farm for a while (my own fault for not calling for more exact directions - I'm positive Colin would have been more than accommodating if I had) it was easy to access with plenty of parking. The hot tub was lush and we found it easy to book times (a chalkboard on the door for you name and time so no faffing around). The solar lights around didn't come on at night so take the handy torch from the coat rack and don't forget your dressing gown like I did! It is big enough for 4 and toasty. Colin was there to greet and kindly provided a second key so my sister and I could split up if needed. Just a text away but not intrusive of our stay which was great. If you want somewhere on the boarders with a little something extra (the hot tub) and like me prefer to self cater this is a great choice.

Lovely stay at The Granary, a perfect base for exploring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Owners very welcoming and helpful, cottage nicely kept and worked well with a toddler roaming about! Only complaint, the mattresses could do with replacing as they are well past their best. Other than that, would definitely return to Bream and the Court Farm cottages.

Lovely cottage and hosts were welcoming. Coffee, tea and milk were available on arrival. The cottage was clean and the hot tub was in a private enclosure. Good for families and dogs.
