300 metres from beach, light and airy bungalow has enclosed garden, Arundel with its castle and wetland centre close by.

Just 300 metres from the beach

Situated 300 metres from the beach, this holiday home lies close to the village of Elmer and within half a mile along the beach of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which stretches several miles from Elmer to Littlehampton. The beaches in this area remain quiet, even during the busiest summer periods and with man made rock islands just off the shore and accessible at low tide, the beach is wonderful to explore and is ideal for swimming, fishing, windsurfing and walking. Elmer is an ideal location to explore many of the attractions of the south coast from bustling Brighton, 25 miles, to the east to historic Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight to the west. In between there are beautiful places such as Chichester with its cathedral and festival theatre, quaint Arundel, 5 miles to the north with its castle, river, antique shops and famous wetland bird centre, Goodwood and Fontwell race courses and the beautiful South Downs are all close by. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with French doors. Kitchen. 3 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with en-suite bathroom and toilet, 1 twin, 1 bunk. Shower room with toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair on request. Freeview TV. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (3 cars). No smoking.

The location of the property so close to this quiet beach with lovely walks in both directions is what made it great for us. The enclosed garden helps make it perfect for anyone on holiday with dogs. The cottage is cosy and well equipped. Home from home rather than pretentious. Local pubs are friendly and serve good food as does the Indian-all within walking distance. The South Downs Way is only a short drive away if you fancy a change from the beach. All helped by the fantastic weather.

An adorable cottage where you feel home from home. Very clean with all the utensils you could possibly need.

Our fourth stay and we were not disappointed. Little updates from last year but the cottage retains its charm. Clean, comfortable with many thoughtful little touches; homemade biscuits, dog bowls, beach towels in case you have forgotten your own to name a few. The village has all amenities; supermarket, cash machine and three good public houses, as well as the beach so close by. We used the good local bus to visit Littlehampton saving the hassle of parking. The walk along the beach to Felpham is a must as is the crab salad and delicious food at The Lobster Pot. Bathing is safe in the little bays made when the tide is in. The beach is pebbles at the top and then mostly sand. Stones for crabbing, sand for castles and beach games.

We enjoyed getting away from it all and had a very relaxing comfortable break. The dogs loved it one the swimming in the sea, the other the paddling, and both the walks on the beach. It was great to have all the modern working conveniences in the house itself and the garden was totally enclosed. A perfect place.

Second visit (first was 2014). The cottage hasn't lost any of its character and charm. 3 adults and 2 dogs on the visit. Ideal location for visiting the New Forest, Arundel Castle, Isle of Wight, Brighton, Chichester etc. Nearby local shops for provisions and a couple of excellent take aways ( fish and chips and Indian). Great beach nearby for dog walking. Weather not brilliant on our visit but no problem when you have such a nice base to stay in.
