Description

Relax and enjoy the peaceful location of this beautiful four storey Victorian family home, or enjoy the fun of the bustling town of Hunstanton.

Hidden away so that you could miss it when passing by, Chestney House really does feel like a secret escape. Right in the heart of the action but elevated from the street, it provides a quiet and relaxing getaway, for those looking to enjoy all that Hunstanton has to offer, while also grabbing some peace and quiet. With many of the rooms offering sea views, Chestney House was formerly the family home of the owner and you can see that it has been furnished and decorated with love. Dating back to the 1800s it was part of the first properties to be built in, what is now, the town centre and really is a property of character. With so much to do in Hunstanton itself you could park your car on arrival and then not use it until it’s time to go home, as everything is reachable on foot. But those wishing to explore the coast will find lots of unspoilt beaches, pretty villages and great places to eat. Wells-next-the-Sea is well worth a visit and offers a narrow gauge railway that takes you to the beach, a picturesque quay and a great mix of boutique and traditional seaside shops and cafes. History lovers will enjoy the Hanseatic port of Old King’s Lynn with its popular ghost walk and trips to the Sandringham Estate, which hosts lots of events throughout the year and to Holkham Hall too. Bird watchers, walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice as will beach lovers, who could literally find a different beach for every day of their stay, although with Hunstanton’s wide, golden beach on offer, it may be hard to tear yourself away. After all the fun of the fair, where better than Chestney House to relax and dream of adventures yet to come. Should you need parking for more than one car, there is a car park 120 yards away. Golf courses nearby. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

7 steps to entrance: Half landing: Separate toilet. First floor: Living room with wooden floor. Dining room with wooden floor. Kitchen with tiled floor. Second floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double (one 5ft), one with en-suite shower room and toilet, one with en-suite shower room (no toilet), 1 bunk. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Wonderful place. Bedroom layout created a problem. One twin bedded would have solved. And may be revisited

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your comments and the fact that you described Chestney House as a 'wonderful place'. However, you also state that you felt that the sleeping arrangements at the house were a problem. We offer a queen size bed (6 ft)a king size bed (5ft) a double bed and bunk beds. This is all described quite clearly in the information detailed at the time of booking, and this is the first time the sleeping arrangements have been called into question.

Everything was perfect, the only thing missing was the use of the garden or part of the garden especially on a warm evening.

Lovely, lovely house, spacious,v clean and very well equipped. Our 6 teenage grandchildren absolutely loved the house, to quote the 16 year old 'this house is really cool'. So close to the beach, shops and restaurants. A wonderful holiday in a wonderful house.

A good choice for extended family gathering - the grandchildren loved it and we were all comfortable too. The house had a lot of very helpful extras - toys and puzzles for the kids and the like. Excellently presented house and very friendly and convenient. Hunstanton is small, but lots of things to do in the surrounding areas as well as the basics in town.

The house was spacious and comfortable. Had everything needed plus games cupboard and huge TV. The number of bathrooms was ace - worked well for 7 adults. Lovely sea views from various windows. The bed in the attic room is huge. The bunk beds are more suitable for children than adults. Debra was fantastic host, helpfully sorted a parking permit for us. House is very well located in centre of Hunstanton. Easy driving distance to Wells next the Sea too. The Crystal Room next door does a wide variety of massages but best to book in advance.

We had an excellent holiday with fine weather and opportunities for us all to enjoy that which we enjoyed - the beach for the children, places to visit and fine walking.
