Had a fantastic week's break at Chesterhill Old farm. There is nothing that I could be critical about. The premises are excellent, and were perfect for our family. They would suit anyone who is just looking for a week's unwind or for someone to use as a base for getting out and about. The owners are next door, but are not intrusive, and it was nice to occasionally chat. The previous comments about the sheep, goats and ducks are very true. they were a joy to watch and feed, and Chalkie was a delight, albeit he seems to be be getting on a little. For anyone wanting a quiet pint there is a nice working mens club in the village, but for anyone wanting to to go further afield there are untold places such as Housesteads (Roman Wall) Alnwick, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Islands, Amble, Alnmouth and many more places. We even had time to do Berwick and Coldstream. We have a dog and the cottage was dog friendly as were most of the places we visited. Excellent holiday and would certainly book again.
