This property is part of our Scottish regional Cottages collection

The Scottish Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Scotland better!

Families and friends will enjoy staying at this superb wooden lodge, ideal for exploring the Rhins Peninsula, Dumfries and Galloway, and Ayrshire.

Cedar Lodge is a superb wooden lodge, decorated in a New England clapper board style, and with its stylish, quality interior, is an absolute gem. Located next door to the Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Course in this charming coastal village, it offers magnificent sea views across the Irish Sea from the floodlit timber deck. This magnificent property has everything from the well-equipped kitchen to the thick, feather-filled duvets and pillows, and crisp white linen. All four bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
Portpatrick is a charming and pretty fishing port with a small sandy beach and harbour as the focal point of the village. Take a stroll along the harbour and stop off at one of the waterfront pubs for a drink or a meal whilst enjoying the sea view!
There are lots of walks right on your doorstep - a pretty walk across Dunskey golf course takes you into the Dunskey Estate with its pretty woodland walks and walled garden. Test yourself in the Hedge Maze then relax in the tea room.
Portpatrick is the ’Gateway to the Southern Upland Way’, a 212 mile coast to coast walk from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath in the east. Join the route on the cliffs above the harbour and walk along the coast enjoying the beautiful views over the sea to Ireland.
There are lots of other pretty little ports and bays to discover in the area too. Killantringan Bay is a short drive outside Portpatrick, and a short walk from the village will bring you to Laird’s Bay.

There is a host of other local attractions including the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens at Port Logan.
The area is a cyclist’s paradise with the famous ’7Stanes’ world class mountain biking trails within easy reach.

A quality let - building/furnishings/amenities/equipment. As an example, one of the few places we've been to that doesn't require supplementary lighting (on my standard to-take list). The view from the veranda is magnificent: it must be wonderful in summer/fine warm weather (we had a few days of that). Port Patrick is one of those places we'd love to park up the car and just enjoy the place for a week. Having said that, the other coastal villages/ports are a sight to behold, and worth touring.
