Excellent location: not overlooked and felt secluded, but only 5 minutes walk from the town and with a fabulous view of the castle from the sitting room. Lovely garden and summer-house where we sat and drank prosecco and admired the view some more. Comfortable house with lots of space and excellent amenities and comfortable bedrooms. Enjoyed being able to step out of the house and find things to do and places to go without the need to get in the car. Good butchers and bakers in the town along with grocery shops and plenty of pubs and other cafes and eateries. Enjoyed the castle and the local museum, and enjoyed both a short (with Children) and long (without Children) walk along the Swale. As well as enjoying the house and local amenities, we used the house as a convenient location to explore the surrounding area: York, Durham and a bit of Hadrian's wall.

Richmond was our home until 4 years ago when we emigrated to Australia. This was our first trip back as a family. Castle View was the perfect place for us to stay, close to the town centre, amazing views, well appointed and extremely comfortable. We would definitely choose to stay here again on future visits back to Richmond.

Great location for exploring the dales and making the best of what Richmond has to offer. Fabulous views of the town from the garden - and just a 10 minute walk into town for evening meals and sightseeing (although bear in mind the hill to climb). The house is very well equipped and everything is of a high standard. Couldn't find anything that was missing!

Not ideal for disabled people ,

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for awarding Castle View the individual scores on the Reevoo system as : 10 for Comfort & Equipment 10 for Location 10 for Cleanliness 10 For Amenities 8 for Value for Money Thank you also for your comments in the Visitors Book remarking that it was a clean, comfy home from home for you all. As described, Castle View is in an elevated location commanding extensive views over historic Richmond to its Castle & the River Swale. It is on 3 floors and as a result it is perhaps not ideal for some guests with disabilities. However during a recent major refurbishment, we purposely located the new super king en-suite bedroom on the middle floor next to the kitchen & lounge with a picture window of the stunning views. This improvement has been well received by our elderly & less mobile guests.

Very comfortable, well appointed cottage. Being less than a half mile from centre of Richmond it was quiet and easy parking for three vehicles. Certainly a good base for walks in the local area and exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
