This property is part of our Cottages4you collection

In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

First floor accommodation boasting a 5ft wide four poster bed and views over the Dorset Downs.

Set in the unspoilt village of Bothenhampton about a mile from Bridport and the new harbour of West Bay, where the TV series "Broadchurch" was filmed, and its beaches. The historic rope-making town of Bridport with its twice weekly market is a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast, England’s only natural World Heritage Site. Sweet Briar (ref 8234) and Buzzards (ref 8235, first floor) are in the east wing of an old country house and Farthings (ref 19292) is in the west. The holiday properties have views over the fields and woodland of the Dorset Downs. Many badgers have made their sets in the hill behind, and there is an abundance of wildlife. For the past few years holidaymakers in Sweet Briar (ref 8234) and Buzzards (ref 8235) have been able to watch a family of deer grazing in the adjacent fields and during the summer months, bats put on an amazing aerial display. Perfect for relaxing or more invigorating walking holiday in this AONB, which includes extensive NT land. Chesil Beach, one of the finest barrier beaches, begins at West Bay. Lyme Regis with its Cobb and the famous fossil beach at Charmouth are close by. Not far away is the ancient town of Dorchester with its Iron Age hill fort and Roman town house and many other sites of historic interest. Spend a day at Abbotsbury Swannery, the only place in the world where you can walk among the baby swans (hatching from May). Golf course and leisure centre nearby. Bike hire available locally. Ideal for exploring the Jurassic Coast or for just relaxing in this tranquil village. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

All on the first floor.

Nice place but no outside space garden .no light summer bed laundy even after asking for it. In good location for day's out. Otherwise good clean place,in quiet area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are so happy that you found the flat clean and peaceful and we do hope you enjoyed the welcome of a Dorset cream tea. The duvet on the bed is rated as a summer weight duvet. You said you wanted us to provide you with a flat sheet but unfortunately we only have fitted sheets which you did not want. Buzzards is not advertised as having a garden or outside space. It is always a good idea to read the details of the holiday property you book as this tells you what is provided as well as many other important points so guests can decide prior to booking whether the property is suitable or not. We are sorry that you left without saying goodbye as we always like to say goodbye to our guests before they leave. It is unfortunate that you did not tell us that you had broken one of the spires on the four poster bed and so we had to call out a carpenter on Saturday. If you had told us it was broken we could have had it mended for you and it would have made your stay much nicer.

This is a great place to stay to explore West Dorset. You are near main routes and the coast but in a quiet spot. We loved the decor and layout of the flat .

We really enjoyed our stay in the lovely, well equipped apartment. It is in a great position to enjoy the various costal towns and walks near West Bay. The only thing that could improve the stay would be access to an outside seating area.
