Burn Beag is a delightful three-bedroom cottage nestled in the picturesque village of Glencoe, surrounded by some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the Scottish Highlands. Sleeping up to six guests and welcoming two well-behaved dogs, it is an ideal choice for families, couples and friends looking to explore Lochaber together.
Inside, the cottage has a warm and comfortable atmosphere designed for relaxed holidays. At its heart is the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room, where guests can prepare meals, enjoy breakfast and gather around the table to plan the day’s adventures. French doors fill the room with natural light and open directly onto the patio. With beautiful mountain views all around, this is the perfect place for morning coffee, alfresco dining or well-earned drinks after a day outdoors.
The separate lounge is especially inviting, with comfortable seating and a traditional wood-burning stove. It provides a cosy place to watch a film, read a book or warm up after exploring the glen.
Burn Beag offers flexible sleeping accommodation over two floors. Downstairs, there is a generous kingsize bedroom with a bathroom and overhead shower conveniently situated nearby, which may suit guests who prefer to avoid stairs. Upstairs, an attractive double bedroom and welcoming twin room are complemented by a family shower room.
Outside, the patio provides a peaceful place to appreciate the fresh Highland air and spectacular surroundings. After an energetic walk, your dogs can settle beside you while everyone relaxes beneath the mountains.
The cottage is perfectly positioned for discovering Glencoe and the wider West Highlands. Signal Rock and An Torr, Glencoe Lochan and several woodland trails can be easily explored from the village. The shores of Loch Leven are ideal for photography and peaceful walks, while the surrounding area offers climbing, cycling, kayaking and wildlife watching. Winter visitors can enjoy skiing at Glencoe Mountain Resort or Nevis Range.
Glencoe Visitor Centre is a fascinating place to learn about the landscape and the historic Glencoe Massacre, particularly on an inclement day. Fort William is nearby and is the starting point for the Jacobite Steam Train, which crosses the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct on its journey to Mallaig. Both the train and viaduct featured in the Harry Potter films. Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, offers everything from scenic lower-level walks to a challenging summit climb.
Within an hour’s drive, Oban offers McCaig’s Tower, Dunollie Castle, Dunstaffnage Castle, seafood restaurants, independent shops and a bustling harbour. Ferries and boat trips depart for Mull, Iona, Lismore and Kerrera, with advance booking recommended.
Whether your holiday includes outdoor adventures, scenic drives or quiet evenings beside the fire, Burn Beag provides a welcoming Highland retreat in every season.
