In addition to the main shopping street, where you will find a selection of small supermarkets to include a Co-op and Tesco Express, there are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens, which is an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for its theatre, its concerts and comedy and dance shows. There are a number of great restaurants in Ventnor or if you fancy a take-away to enjoy by the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery on the Esplanade and sells fish and chips, locally caught and prepared to order. Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable micro-climate at the heart of the famous ’Undercliff’. This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is a restaurant and café on-site for refreshments; lunch or coffee and cake! From the esplanade you can take the level walk, along the sea wall to Bonchurch, or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessed by foot. Beach 1 mile.
