Took us 15 minutes to work the key lock in the dark. A lovely property but needs some maintenance and tlc. Kitchen cupboards and drawers filthy, washing machine handle comes off in your hand so unable to use it, one of chair backs at dining table very loose. Very dangerous, particularly if an elderly person sat on it. Dishwasher needed salting but we didn't expect to have to bring our own salt! Hundreds of cups and plates etc which takes up so much space that no room for our own food. Freezer desperately needs defrosting. Bathroom needs vent when shower on as mound growing all over. Top of tap in bathroom come off, no bath mat or hand towels. Drawer handles missing, pillows very stained and dirty (they are cheap enough to buy!) cushions in lounge desperately need washing and the settee could do with good clean. These are all minor things and lack of basic maintenance so hopefully the owners will get onto this as it would be a real shame if left unattended and prevents people coming as its a lovely property and perfect location with stunning views when you open curtains in morning

We found the cottage in need of some TLC the toilet seat was loose and the wash basin taps had loose inserts. There was no cupboard for food storage in the kitchen and some basic equipment such as Pyrex basins and a covered casserole dish were missing. Cutlery and some crockery were in need of replacement. No floor mop or dustpan available if there were spillages. Pillows were in need of replacement and the duvet on the double bed could do with being a larger size. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom and the Velux window really needed a pole to open it. Recycling was not clear as previous occupants seem to have mixed up waste in the available bins. Once we got the hang of the storage heaters the cottage was cosy. Location was good and the Black Bull is an excellent pub for food and drink.
