Surrounded by stunning scenery with access to Offa’s Dyke footpath, this 1960s former barn boasts a private hot tub and an enclosed garden.

This heaven on earth sanctuary with private hot tub and holistic treatments on site is perfect for that special romantic occasion or celebration, or indeed if you just want to flop and drop and get away from it all. Situated in the wonderfully stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is also perfect for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, wildlife lovers, artists, photographers, spa lovers, yogi’s and yogini’s! Beehive Cottage enjoys an idyllic, peaceful location and is set in stunning scenery that no photograph can do justice. This detached, former stable has been lovingly transformed into a beautiful holiday sanctuary and the owner, a holistic therapist, has paid attention to every detail to ensure that visitors experience the same sense of well-being that her clients enjoy from their treatments. The open-plan living area with a cosy wood burner has full width patio windows from which to enjoy the lovely views that surround the property, so even on a rainy day you can bring the outdoors in. The comfortable and beautifully presented bedroom also has patio doors that lead directly out onto the garden. Complete with several seating areas, a private hot tub and a barbecue, the garden is the perfect place to unwind and relax. There is even a herb garden so that guests can pick their own herbs to cook with.

Beehive Cottage is located in the Denbighshire village of Bodfari, which is within the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideal for walkers, you can access the Clwydian Way directly from the property grounds, and Offa’s Dyke footpath is just a quarter of a mile away. Beehive Cottage is also in an Area of Archaeological Interest, with the ancient hill fort Moel Caer being close by. The medieval market town of Denbigh with its castle is just five miles away. Here you will find walking tours which take you around the town and castle. This is also a great place to stock up on the essentials. Other market towns worth visiting include Ruthin, 11 miles and Mold, 12 miles. Bodfari, where the cottage is located has a small shop, which is also an art gallery and a cafe, and two pubs offering great food, one of which offers take-out food, both within a mile.

Whilst Beehive Cottage enjoys the idyllic rural location with 360° views of open countryside and rolling hills, the coast is also very accessible, and the beaches of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Talacre can all be reached within a short drive. Other places of interest within a short drive include St Winefride’s Well, nine miles, Llangollen, 28 miles, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the Great Orme, 26 miles. National Trust’s Bodnant Garden, 25 miles, and Erdigg, 28 miles, are also worth a visit. Snowdonia is accessible from here and can be reached in around 45 minutes via the scenic Denbigh Moors. On the other side of the border, you can easily visit the historic cities of Chester and Liverpool. For overseas visitors, Manchester airport is just 45 minutes drive away. For evening entertainment, apart from pubs and restaurants there is Theatre Clwyd in Mold, Llandudno Theatre and Rhyl Pavillion.

Apart from being ideal for walkers, the area is fantastic for cycling. Golfers wont be disappointed either with two courses in Denbigh, five miles, and three others within a short distance.

After a busy day out exploring, you can come back and relax in the hot tub, or indulge in an on site treatment such as a Aromatherapy/sports massage, Reflexology, Indian head massages, Reiki (treatments arranged directly with the owner). Beehive Cottage was named after the owners’ love of bees and who are beekeepers themselves, but the property was originally named The Sanctuary, which says it all.

We wanted a peaceful break without stress or being tied to a routine and this place delivered on so many levels. On arrival we had home made soda bread and scones, with clotted cream and jam, which were delicious and just what we needed after the 5 hour drive from London. Beehive Cottage was very clean, modern and spacious, perfect for a couple to stay in and such a good base to explore the beautiful countryside views and surrounding towns. The seaside town of Rhyl was only a 20 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, lovely in the hotter months. We utilised the hot tub at the cottage and went in it four times on our last day, it was bliss and we definitely want one in our back garden now!! The owners, Kim and Angus were lovely and made us feel very welcome, without intruding on our privacy. If you are prepared for the long drive to Wales, then you wont be disappointed once you get there. We loved it and can’t wait to return.

A beautifully appointed and clean cottage which is obviously the pride and joy of Kim and Angus who were great hosts. Close enough if needed but far enough away not to be intrusive. Many thanks for a wonderful break and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Lovely clean tidy cottage in a beautiful location made even better with a fabulous hot tub. Very warm and welcoming hosts who had left us homemade bread and scones, Delicious! Very private, we were left alone, however I know we could have approached Angus and Kim at anytime if we had needed to. All in all a fabulous break!

Perfect, a famous Danish lager company doesn't do holiday lets but if they did this would be it.

We enjoyed a fabulous long weekend at Beehive cottage. The fresh scones and bread given to us on arrival were delicious and a lovely touch. You have everything you need in the cottage and Kim and Angus are the perfect hosts. Welcoming and there if you need them but make sure to give you your privacy. The only issue we had was with the drive. We were in a small car with not much power that really struggled to get up the steep drive. The surface is a little gravelly so we had a few wheel slips. There is a second driveway which will bring you up to the cottage so we ended up using this as it was a little more level and meant it was easier for us to get up. Once you are there though it is completely worth it as the views are the best thing about this beautiful property.

Lovely place, ran by great people! After the warm welcome from Kim, thorough teachings of the equipment, some hints and tips of the area and a quick walk-around, we soon discovered how great this place is. There was even fresh scones and sourdough bread waiting for us! It's all extremely well equipped, modern and well fitted - but still very warm and cosy at the same time. It's got everything you could think of needing, plus more. Kitchen is modern and clean, bathroom and shower/bath are lovely (good water pressure), the bedroom is great and the living room is good too. Comfy sofa, log burner (with enough wood!), Full freesat TV, and even the Wifi was plenty fast enough for a bit of streaming/browsing. The place was warm, clean, comfy and very well put together as whole. The only downside we could think of with respect to the facilities was that there is no full length mirror, or a large well-lit one in the bathroom - but this was being extremely fussy! The hot tub definitely needs a mention too. Was great on the cold nights star-gazing with a gin and you can even bluetooth your music to its built in speakers. It's also easy to use. I'd never been fussed about hot-tubs in the past but now it's safe to say "I get it!". The views along the front of the property are amazing. You can see for miles - all the way out to the coastline, and on a clearer day you can even see Snowdon (apparently - weather wasn't on our side really!). Lovely to wake up to every day. After the initial introduction and welcome we were also very impressed by the privacy given to us. We didn't see anyone at all (despite them being closeby) in the entire 3 night stay, yet we had easy and fast contact should we need anything. Access to the place is good too, with local amenities in Bodfari down the road (3 mins drive), and then even more in Denbigh (10mins drive) with Morrisons etc. for anything you might need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'd very much come again should we visit the area again sometime in the near future.

The heavy snow in Birmingham did not hinder our travel to Beehive Cottage. We took it slow and made it to Beehive Cottage. Kim & Angus were the best!!! They made reservation for getting my Van up their steep path by clearing all the snow and gritting the road leading up to their cottage prior to our arrival. Ohhhh we had fun with the Van LOL. The cottage was a beautiful sight to see and enter once we reached the TOP!!! So much effort has been put into this Cottage, from its location and amenities that are supplied with it. You can not fault it!!! The views, hot tub, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom is all full functional... and not forgetting the Wood Stove. We had a fantastic week here and there is so much to do. Our first time in Wales and we’re already planning something for Summer/Autumn 2018. Bodfari is a quiet location... but it should not stop you venturing out to other towns/villages ... whether you walk it or drive it... the views are fabulous and there’s always places to put stop to have a drink or a bite to eat!!! We even managed to do a Winter BBQ at the Cottage (outside of course but TWO days in a row... with the snow around us!) Wales is a visit, but you must have an open mind as the weather can be temperamental... but the solution is, be prepared and you will have an amazing time. The cottage is perfect to come back to unwind and relax. Kim & Angus were always near by if we required them, yet they was always mindful and respectful to give us our Privacy...they are truly amazing lovely and genuine human beings (excellent hosts!!!). We wish them both great health and the best future ever. Omar & Fiz (Birmingham)
