Lovely cottage, cannot fault. 5 or 6 miles to nearest local shops so bear in mind. Pub in village recommended. Disappointed with owners as electric went off all day Thursday which had been notified by Scottish Power so owners should have known but weren't interested when we raised it. People in other cottage had issue with heating timer after electric came back on. They called owners who said they would send someone out but no-onevturned up. If you have problems just expect to sort them yourself!

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay at Beech Cottage. We are delighted that you found the cottage to be lovely. Unfortunately the interruption to the power supply was out of our hands. During your telephone call to the Estates Office to report that there was no power, we checked the Scottish Power website which showed that work was taking place and we could only advise that power would be restored later in the day. Our plumber was informed of the issue with the heating timer in one of our other cottages and this was remedied the same day. The Estates Office is open during office hours and we also provide guests with an emergency contact mobile number for any problems that may be experienced during a stay at our cottages. Our maintenance team is always on hand to rectify any problems as quickly as possible. We do hope that the interruption to power did not detract too much from your stay.

Beech cottage is a fabulous cottage and much bigger than we anticipated. It handled our family of six with ease (and comfort). It is comfortable, modern, well appointed and clearly well maintained. The only gripe we had about the place was it wasn't spotless when we arrived. There was hair in the bread bin, the handle on the oven was covered in something smeggy and there were crumbs under the coffee table. All that said, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The welcome pack was a nice touch and there was tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets already there. Overall we would recommend this cottage.
