Owners nearby if required but very respectful of privacy. Cottage beautiful, comfortable and well appointed. Local amenities less available but this is also part of the cottage's charm - that it is in the middle of nowhere! But good facilities available within reasonable distance (10-15 miles). Closest e.g. pub, tea room etc high quality and signposted by owners for guests to try if they wish.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet location. No phone signal, no wifi, total peace ! Clean and comfortable, It will accommodate 4 people at a squeeze but is possibly best suited to 2 adults. The kitchen has all the appliances you need for any length of stay, the lounge has a great old fashioned stove as its centre piece. The shower in the bath was a bit weak but ok. We spent a happy week with our dog touring the area and enjoyed the views of the heather moors and pretty little valleys. The best part of the coast was Robin Hoods Bay. Next door to the cottage are the owners, they are very nice. The garden would of been better suited to a pet if it was all fenced in. We would recommend staying here for a relaxing break.

Beckside cottage is remote and rural but that is what we wanted you do have to go miles to a shop and none are open locally on a Sunday but we wanted that too. The location is very beautiful and the cottage is very cosy with a coal fire if the evenings get cold plus central heating I loved the decor and there is everything you need. The cottage is next to the farmers family home but this is not a problem the family are welcoming and friendly but not intrusive they are great if you need anything. There is no internet so if you need it this may be a concern but we weren't bothered at all. There are Bats in the evening which are great to watch also horses sheep chickens and cows. The garden is gated with a low wall which was great for our old dog but not sure it would stop a larger or younger dog from getting out. Great for Whitby and North Yorkshire. We would definitely return for another holiday.
