From day one we had problems with the lock on the rear door which we could not unlock from the inside. I called the emergency number about this the person I spoke to was less than helpful. He said he would send someone to sort it out but no one came. There were no instructions ref recycling or when the when the bins soul;d be put out for collection. The decking is in serious need of attention by the back gate and the gate itself is difficult to open and close. The information pack lacked information on the equipment in the cottage. The outside area of the cottage lacked care and attention and for the price we paid we expected better.

Ideal for children and dogs with a park, play area, skate park, crazy golf and the beach all within 5 minutes of the property. It was wonderful to spend a whole week without using the car!

The cottage could not have been in a better location for access to the beach. However, it was not made clear that the access road was terrible - only the width of one car and if you could park there you had to be right up on the pavement up against a properties window. The other issue was the upstairs layout. I've no idea how it got past safety regulation. The very steep stairs to the bedrooms ended right outside of bedroom two. There should be a safety gate at the top because if someone came out of that bedroom half asleep they could easily fall down the stairs. There was a note to 'leave the landing light on' however the 'landing' was actually bedroom one. I also left a note at the cottage to say that the shower (which is lovely) did not drain away and flooded the whole bathroom. Hopefully that has been sorted. Having said all this, because it was only me and my husband there, the upstairs although not ideal wasn't a real issue. We ended up parking the car in the shop carpark in the high street which resolved the issue of the pavement parking. Mundesley is a beautiful little place and we would visit again but possibly in a cottage with off road parking.

Good location with a park outside the back gate & the beach just across the park. Nice dog friendly pub close by ( The Ship) & local shops all walkable. Nice cosy well equipped cottage with large living area & modern bathroom. Problems with tv reception still there but excellent WiFi & Netflix available. The stairs could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues being steep with high treads. Parking may be a problem in busy times of year but the other rentals were empty when we were there. The beach is good & wide for walks without worry about the tides & also went to Bacton woods which we know from other visits. We enjoyed the weekend in Mundesley despite the storms & will definitely return to the area.

Our second stay at the Beachcomber. Upon arrival there was no welcome pack which there was the first time and the property was not as clean with crumbs on the dining table for example. The mattresses need renewing as the double bed in the main bedroom was so uncomfortable we had to use the one in the triple room. However a fantastic bathroom now with a walk-in shower and the best tiling in a bathroom I have ever seen replacing the shower in the bath. We would definitely stay in the property again as you would have trouble beating its position. A walk across a beautiful park and then onto the beach. We ate in the Ship Inn every night and they allow dogs in the bar which suits us.

Perfect location for exploring the north Norfolk coastline and surrounding villages. A very friendly village with enough amenities for the ‘essentials’ and takeaways/cafes/pubs all within walking distance.
