Further west, explore pretty Aberdaron, wander along its sandy beach and discover St Hywyn’s Church, with boat trips available to magical Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), steeped in centuries of pilgrimage and wildlife. Porth Oer, better known as Whistling Sands, is another must visit, while Porthdinllaen offers a beautiful hidden coastal village setting.
For history and culture, visit dramatic Criccieth Castle, explore Plas Glyn Y Weddw’s gallery and gardens, or spend a day at the extraordinary Italianate village of Portmeirion.
