A beautiful light and airy property, right in the heart of Sheringham, just 100 yards from the beach.

Nestled on a quiet road but still very close to the town centre and wide beach, Ascot Villa has been lovingly renovated and redesigned by the owner to provide everything a discerning guest could need for an enjoyable holiday. This detached property boasts a spacious, light and airy kitchen with a large dining area, where bi-fold doors lead out to the private courtyard garden. Whether you choose to unwind over dinner or by the wood burner in the living room, you will find Ascot Villa a very relaxing getaway. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms for your comfort, and every care has been taken to provide beautifully decorated, high standard accommodation throughout.
A few steps will take you to the wide, sand and pebble beach, a favourite with locals and visitors alike, and some of the rooms enjoy sea views. You are also close to the town centre which has a good mix of artisan and high street shops, and lots of great places to eat and drink. The town is also home to Sheringham Park, 1000 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens with breathtaking coastal walks, The North Norfolk Railway, with steam train trips along the coast, and two museums, including the quaint Peter Coke Shell Gallery. Those tempted to venture further afield can head east or west to find a string of pretty coastal towns and villages including Cromer, with its famous pier and cinema, and Wells-next-the-Sea with its much photographed quay.
You will also find The Thursford Collection with its famous Christmas Spectacular and Santa’s Magical Journey, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, Amazona Zoo and The Muckleburgh Military Collection close by. In fact, you will be spoilt for choice as this part of the coast offers something for all ages and all tastes, including lots of walks, cycle routes and bird watching. And, to return to Ascot Villa after a day’s sightseeing, now that is a treat indeed. Beach 100 yards. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

    This cottage has only just become available as a holiday let. I understand the property was an old fisherman's cottage before being extended and fully refurbished. No expense has been spared, and the attention to detail is phenomenal- if they could have spent a pound on something, they spent two. We couldn't find fault with anything anywhere and the colour schemes are straight out of a Dulux brochure- beautiful. I'm certain it is the loveliest property I have ever set foot in and could happily live in this house permanently. My favourite feature was the folding door system which, when opened up, extend the kitchen/dining area into the garden- they've even continued the ceramic tiles into the garden to further enhance this feature. The property is very comfortably furnished and very well equipped and we all found the beds extremely comfortable. The only thing it lacked was some large/pint glasses for us beer drinkers but then we coped by filling the smaller glasses twice! Fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, bread, butter and tea & coffee were a welcome surprise on arrival, as was an ample supply of dishwasher and washing machine tablets (a minor detail, I know). The property also boasts a good wifi connection- essential with two teenage girls in our group. They have also, very cleverly, configured the front and side of the house to provide off road parking for two cars, a feature that we have found sadly lacking in many properties we have stayed at in the past, especially in West Country seaside towns. The property is a one minute walk away from both the seafront and the High Street- which is beautifully old fashioned and is mixture of old and new, independent and national chain stores. The ice cream parlours and 'Joyful West' (for crabs, lobsters and shellfish) grabbed my attention on a daily basis. Sheringham is also a good base for a holiday with many local attractions to complete any holiday. I won't go into details as everyone's idea of what constitutes a good day out differ enormously, anyway, you've got Google for that! In terms of cost the cottage is at the top end compared to similar size properties elsewhere, but as I was once told, 'Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.' Stay in this property- you won't be disappointed.

    I have never said I must return to a holiday let yet and I have spent the last 10 years booking lets twice a year! This property, I actually said, I truly would return to! The location between the High Street and beach means no need for a car once there, although having x2 parking spaces was a bonus. No phone signal but wi-fi made up for that. The property was a joy to reside in, a few more roasting/baking trays would be good but other than that every need was catered for. The welcome pack was very welcome! Our group comprised of telly watchers, out of necessity and not by choice, so a second television would have been useful. A property I would highly recommend booking, perhaps to my detriment when I next look at doing so! ;-)
