We thought Archie's Cottage was excellent value for money. Comfortable, clean, well stocked with all the necessaries. Lower Burnmouth is indeed an interesting place, quite wild and remote which we loved along with the view in front of the cottage. We did think the description of a 'steep hill' approach was greatly under estimated - it was extremely steep but we did enjoy the challenge and adventure of travelling up and down it!! we would certainly go again even with the hill.

Burnmouth and Archies Cottage always delight .From the moment I arrive at the top of the bank and look down into the harbour I feel myself relax and ready to enjoy my holiday by the sea. Archies cottage is always clean cosy and comfortable and the people in the area are always very friendly. This was my fourth holiday in Archies Cottage and I hope to be back for a fifth time .

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable with a lovely view in a nice location. We knew when we booked the cottage it took pets, we did notice a dog smell and a number of dog hairs on the rug in the lounge but we didn't feel it detracted from the stay too much.

This cottage is in a beautiful location and we had a great holiday. The views are beautiful and our boys enjoyed climbing the rocks and exploring the local area. The cottage has everything you could need and offers a very comfortable base for your holiday. The welcome box was very much appreciated. A great week had by all, would highly recommend.

Lots of issues with our stay unfortunately - mainly lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues (mentioned by previous guests and still not addressed), safety issues re spring sticking out of mattress in twin room, bare bolts and screws in bathroom. Garden not secure for dog as we'd thought, as right of way across rear of all cottages, so all open, and dog cannot be left unsupervised. Unfriendly neighbour barking at us within first hour, telling us to move our car despite cottage info book saying where we could park!

Lovely View from sitting room and front bedrooms, pretty sitting room but a squeeze to sit around the dining table. Great location to explore Scotland and Northumberland's beautiful coastline and castles. Right on the beach so we saw seals, herons, seabirds and fishing boats from the cottage. Rock pools at low tide to explore.
