Entrance now such that before long only a 4/4 will get up that drive and difficult negotiating the gate with low sitting car. Gate left open so sheep poo all over front of garden of the house.Sheep also scale the low fence. However s really lovely spot and ideal for our requirements . Everything else with the cottage was fine .i think if I’d had small children with me I’d have been annoyed at the mess the sheep leave in the garden. We always shut the inner gate but sheep usually around when we returned from an outing.

The cottage far exceeded our expectations. The setting is spectacular though a little remote but that is the attraction. The drive along the Drumbeg loop single track road to get to the cottage is slow with plenty of passing places for the few cars that you may come across but the views are awesome. The cottage is an old croft with original features and suited our needs perfectly. Warm, dog friendly, well equipped and perfect for the two of us. Might be a little small for four adults but we didn’t step foot upstairs where there is a further twin bedded room and mezzanine. There is plenty to do in the area. Many walks, beaches, waterfalls. Ullapool, Lochinver, Durness all great days out. Kylesku Hotel serves great food and very welcoming. Drumbeg Stores in the village is terrific for daily essentials and very friendly. True, there is no WiFi, the tv signal occasionally dips out, the weather can occasionally change your plans but the benefits are immense. Watching four different families of red deer at dusk with a sundowner on the hill steps away from the cottage with views of the mountains, lochs and sea will be remembered forever.
