Lovely cottage, quite remote, the 9 mile road from the east to Drumbeg had (142 passing places) & the 14 mile road to Lochinver from Drumberg, all single track with blind summits, & hairpin bends, spectacular views, we were blessed with glorious weather for the whole week, so yes we would definitely return sometime. Our main reason for our stay was to do part of the "500 North Coast Drive"

A most beautiful location perched on a hill with the sea to the rear and the hills in front. Great walks along the peat roads. Good for well trained, non-roaming dogs. Ideal for those wanting silence and peace. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. This is our second stay here and we will be returning. Dramatic views everywhere. Drumbeg store (half a mile away) is expensive but not surprising in this area. Good range of basics and luxury treats. Very friendly community.

We loved staying at ACHD. It is a charming croft set back from the road without any immediate neighbours but only a short walk to the village. It is warm, clean and well equipped without being luxurious. We struggled a bit with the curtains upstairs - maybe velux blinds would be easier and block out more morning light - but overall we really enjoyed our stay. The area is fabulous for walking and empty white sandy beaches. The Assynt Highland Games were superb (great sea food from a shack at the end of the harbour in Lochinver) - and we really enjoyed Handa Island, although be aware that the puffins tend to leave by early August. The village shop is a 10 minute walk away and is very good with freshly baked bread and cakes available and delicious local ice cream. Overall, a very positive experience. Thank you.
