We had a lovely stay at A Twist of Lyme. The owners greeted us on arrival which was appreciated, very comfortable, warm and clean and perfectly situated for our weekend. We arrived to some nice treats left by the owners and would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage. Everything was very clean and the owners very friendly. The scones and lemon drizzle cake were wonderful. Only a couple of miles drive from the coast which was perfect for us. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again.

Excellent cottage with truly lovely owners. Well situated for visiting Devon and Dorset attractions. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped and more than pet friendly.

A beautiful cottage, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed is incredible. Hosts were extremely welcoming, the scones/tea/coffee welcome pack was a lovely touch, as was the goodie bag for my dog. I cannot fault the accommodation and this is my second visit. The only reason I did not give 10's for the location is that it is on a road with no street lights, making night time dog walking difficult. This would not be an issue for anyone without a dog. Same reason for not giving top marks on local amenities. There is a pub in walking distance, but again lack of street lighting makes it difficult at night.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for your lovely review. When we first moved here, it took us a bit of getting used to the complete darkness at night too. We are one of the few places left in the UK which doesn’t suffer from light pollution, and that makes it wonderful for star gazing... However, we realise that practically some light is needed so we have a sensor activated outside light by the cottage entrance and we supply a torch for night time rambles - we can’t guarantee a cloud-free view of the stars though.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage. Ideal base for travelling around Dorset. Minutes from Lyme Regis (but use the Park and Ride - free if you have your bus pass with you!) Nice to be greeted and shown around on arrival (rather than just finding the keys in a lock box). Hosts live next door and were approachable and friendly. A lovely touch was a welcome pack and a cream tea waiting for us on arrival. Ideal tonic after a long drive.

Cottage lovely - cleanliness excellent- owners very welcoming. Only drawback for us was that we had to use car everywhere - to take dog to local green space for a run - shop- and to try anything other than local pub/restaurant which was also a very long walk along narrow pavements where there were any. Having said that we had a lovely holiday in a Twist of Lyme

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. For the benefit of future guests, you should be aware that A Twist of Lyme is in a semi-rural location and most roads are lanes without pavements, having said that we are fortunate to have a pavement from the cottage, albeit narrow. The walk to the local pub and general store/post office is half a mile along that pavement on flat terrain. However, we realise that this may be half a mile too far for some guests, so there is the benefit of parking outside both the store/pub and many local taxi firms, should you wish to partake of an alcoholic beverage at the pub. For those guests with pets there are details of walks locally in the cottage, alternatively, you are most welcome to use our half acre garden to exercise pets. We are glad that overall this did not spoil your enjoyment during your stay with us.

really nice well equipped place. could do with local shop for bread/milk/papers etc

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for leaving a review. Just to say there is a local post office/general store within walking distance from the cottage - details are in the information folder. Guests, please don’t be afraid to ask, that’s what we're here for.
