Within walking distance to shops, pubs and restaurant, and within easy reach of golf and skiing, this property is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.

Living room: With wood burner, 32" Freeview TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs and French doors leading to garden.
Kitchen/dining room: With wood burner, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, and washing machine.
Porch: With tumble dryer.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2: With double bed and single bed.
Shower room: With shower cubicle and toilet.

Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burners included.

Lawned garden. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are some low ceilings and uneven floors.

Situated in the heart of Grantown-on-Spey, this charming, semi-detached holiday cottage is set back off the green and offers guests a good level of space. On the ground floor there is a kitchen/dining room with a cosy wood burner, living room with further wood burner and French doors leading to the garden, and a bathroom. On the first floor there is a shower room and two bedrooms; one with a double and a single bed, and one with a kingsize bed. Outside there is a lawned garden and on-site parking for 1 car.

Grantown-on-Spey is situated halfway between the Cairngorm and Lecht ski areas. This location is very popular in winter with skiers and snowboarders. The town has a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars which are all just a short walk from the cottage. There is a superb 18-hole golf course, and the Grantown Heritage Museum is worth a visit. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Nicola Stirlingshire | Family (the eldest child is at school) Loved the quirkiness of this cosy, homely cottage- the sloping floors, creaky floorboards, wood burners and narrow stairs gave it loads of character. Really well located near the centre of town. Enclosed garden was great for our dog and rear porch was very handy for storing wellies etc. Would definitely stay again.

Jane Maldon | Couple Positives first, sadly not very many. Well situated, we have stayed in the area before so chose based on this. Bed comfortable, upstairs shower room ok but basic, and property was clean. The enclosed garden is good for the dog. However, the general standard of furniture and equipment was extremely poor, in my view it looked like a charity shop had been raided, damaged scratched furniture in living room, kitchen and bedroom, poorly maintained, front entrance very poorly presented and front door paint peeling and chipped, floor in hall and stair carpet need upgrade and replacement of stair carpet. Badly decorated overall, and downstairs bathroom in serious need of upgrading, definitely not nice to bath in a cold, rather smelly bathroom with old tired bath and badly tiled bath surround, toilet cistern yellowed and old. Kitchen chairs dated and worn with holes in seats, kitchen smelled, sink plug broken off, a random collection of odd glasses, cups, plates and cutlery which was old and worn, and not in a good vintage way! Old, battered, pitted and stained saucepans that were well past useable, we had to go out and get fish and chips as didn't feel comfortable using them to cook a meal, measuring jug scratched and stained, old plastic colander and chopping board which were both damaged and very dated. Bedroom chest of drawers worn out like much of the other furniture, dirty inside and clearly not fit for using, handles missing too. Old, paint covered chairs used to stand lamps on in living room, with cables wound round them, old lamps with ancient wiring, dangerous and not fit for purpose. The overall picture was that the owner had fitted the whole place out on the cheap from a charity shop or jumble sale, old curtains, no attention to detail, one set of curtains had been pinned to the side of the window frame using drawing pins! We arrived to a freezing cold house, no hot water on for our arrival and even after setting the temperature to 24 degrees the house was still cold the next morning. We refused to accept the property, but were too late to leave that night, so had to stay overnight, but called the helpline and emailed pictures of what we had found at the property, to arrange to move to a *proper* 4 star rated property, which they were very helpful and quick to organise, and we very thankfully left the next morning, although the owner did agree to release the booking and refund, they actually charged us to stay the night! Having stayed in many similar properties all over the UK, and being an owner of a 4 star rated property myself, this property is in my view nowhere near being up to standards that so many owners work very hard to provide for their guests, and I am frankly shocked that it has been rated as such. It really does look like someone is trying to cash in, by spending as little as possible badly equipping their property, some attempt had been made on it in places, living room and kitchen flooring (not even a rug provided in the living room!) and kitchen cupboards being clearly recent, but obviously done on the cheap. This is absolutely not a 4 star property and not comfortable or enjoyable to stay in, in my view it would struggle to be rated 3 star, more like 2, and in my view is an insult to other holiday cottage owners, including the owner of the beautiful deservedly 4 star rated cottage that we continued our stay in, not very far away. I would very strongly suggest that the agency should reconsider it's grading and revisit it, it needs serious work doing to it to make it up to the standard that most guests would expect or deserve, the photos on the listing are misleading and definitely don't show the depressing and substandard reality. If it's left as it is, I would fully expect there to be a lot more negative reviews and complaints going forward.

Laura Glasgow | Friends I very much liked this cottage. It is very simple and has an old-time feel. Both kitchen and lounge have wood-burning stoves (which I was unable to make use of, sadly!). The upstairs shower-room/toilet is fully renovated, with an excellent shower. The house can be kept very warm, with modern radiators in every room. Grantown offers excellent access to walks and other outdoor activities. This cottage is central in the small town, so supermarket, bank and chemists are all near to hand.
