Pwllheli

The bustling market town of Pwllheli lies on southern coast of the Llyn Peninsula and is known for its excellent beach, sailing and watersports centre and wonderful marina. It’s the perfect location for family cottage holidays and those looking for plenty of activities.

Pwllheli is a traditional seaside town with south-facing, safe sandy beaches that are suitable for swimming, with many awarded the prestigious European Blue Flag status. There is an attractive promenade with a play area and amusement arcade for the children.

With so much to keep you occupied on the farm, it may be difficult to tear yourself away, but this area of Wales has some wonderful activities right on your doorstep.
    Pwllheli is only 11/2 miles away and is the main town of the Lleyn Peninsula. It has a popular market on Wednesdays and Sundays in the main square. The town is full of character with its narrow streets, which have many independent shops, boutiques, traditional pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as award-winning fish and chips, traditional Welsh ice cream and seaside rock. The 50 miles of Heritage coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.     This is an excellent, central location on the Llyn Peninsula, giving easy access to all corners, with mountains, beaches and many attractions. The bustling market town of Pwllheli is within a few minutes’ drive and has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, not to mention the stunning beach which seems to go on for miles, topped with grassy sand dunes. Criccieth with its historic, hilltop castle and beach is a little further to the east, as is Porthmadog with the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways. Take the steam train on a nostalgic journey through the breath taking scenery of the Welsh mountains from Porthmadog in the south, to the delightful town of Caernarfon in the north, with its majestic castle standing proudly at the harbour.
    The seaside villages of Nefyn, Abersoch and sleepy Aberdaron are within easy reach and worth a visit, as is the stunning village of Porthdinllaen, situated literally on the beach. Nant Gwrtheyrn on the north coast is a disused quarry village, and a café provides refreshments after a bracing walk down to the beach.
