Boscastle Cottages
Nestled along the dramatic North Cornwall coast is the stunning Elizabethan village and fishing port of Boscastle. A natural inlet in the climactic coastline, Boscastle sits in the midst of a natural amphitheatre of theatrical cliffs and winding pathways bordered by Cornish hedges.

The village itself is wonderfully picturesque. There are historic buildings, quaint stone-built cottages, beautiful churches and tea rooms in which you can indulge in a traditional Cornish tea. Being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as having been the backdrop for the filming of several popular productions such as Doc Martin and Saving Grace, Boscastle provides a breathtaking backdrop that is ideal for a relaxing getaway.

Sur relaxing does not mean that there isn''t plenty to keep holidaymakers entertained. In fact, whether you are looking for a walk to take in the spectacular settings and the must-see wildlife, a spot of coasteering to get the adrenaline pumping, a paddle in the sea or a spot of fishing in the unspoilt harbour then Boscastle has something for you.

The National Trust owns much of the land both in and around Boscastle, including the ancient ''stitchmeal'' farming land and areas of the neighbouring Valency Valley which provided inspiration for the British writer, Thomas Hardy.

Boscastle and the surrounding area allow you to take a step back in time. Boscastle is named after Botreaux Castle, a 12th century motte-and-bailey fortress Botreaux Castle of which a few remaining ruins can still be seen. Immerse yourself in Arthurian legends with the nearby castle ruins and King Arthur''s Great Halls, as well as exploring the curious world of witches by visiting the world''s largest collection of witchcraft artefacts at the Museum of Witchcraft.

If you are looking for a home-from-home from which to explore this beautiful and historical area then search Boscastle holiday cottages today.
