Wales Cottages

The Wales Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Wales better!

Lake side log cabin peacefully situated and each enjoying fabulous lake views.

Lake View, Oak Lodge and Pine Lodge are three, newly built, luxury, lakeside log cabins that provide a tranquil countryside retreat with easy access to all that South West Wales has to offer. The large windows drink in views of the White Springs Lakes and the verandas provide the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the local area or simply to while away some relaxing hours. The three log cabins are similarly furnished to a very high standard; recliner leather sofas and chairs and large flat screen TVs are just some of the many home comforts on offer. And while White Springs, voted the UK’s Number 1 Fishery is a dream holiday spot to any fishing enthusiast ( Please note you cannot eat the fish it is just catch and release as they are all coarse fish) it’s also a great location for anyone who enjoys water views, home comfort and convenience.
Lake View, Oak Lodge and Pine Lodge are positioned adjacent to one another, benefitting from the same fantastic outlook, with identical layout and similar furnishing.

This is a very comfortable 'log cabin' on a quiet, peaceful and tranquil 'fishing centre'. The views are spectacular across the Dulais river valley, with glorious sunsets as the sun sinks behind the hills. The centre is aimed at, and almost exclusively used by, enthusiastic fishermen. There is plenty of room to walk the dog, but 'dog swimming' is clearly not appreciated - for fairly obvious reasons. The cabin is comfortable, but there is little or no soundproofing. The TV and radio are thus clearly audible in the 2 bedrooms, so it helps if everyone goes to bed at the same time. There is no bath, and the shower is a little weak, but perfectly useable. There was no 'welcome pack' when we arrived - a point made to the owners who may well change their policy in future. There is a large supermarket in the nearby town so provisions are not a problem, but if you are arriving late at night it would be advisable to bring your breakfast for the first morning. Local facilities rated as '6/10' for us non-fishers, but if you are (more likely) going for the fishing it would be far more likely be 10/10. An excellent base if you wish just to fish on the site or to explore the local area, but it is not a holiday camp, and children would most likely be easily bored unless they are into their fishing!

Cabin was clean and well equipped. Was disappointed to find that the fishing came at an extra cost as the cost for the four nights was fairly expensive in comparison to other properties we looked at and the extra fishing costs were not mentioned in our booking paperwork. The tight country roads leading to White Springs meant that although amenities were only a mile away it was a fairly dangerous mile to walk!
