A great place to stay for exploring North Devon. Very dog friendly owners with a secure garden and wonderful views over the countryside.

A comfortable cottage with everything you would need. The last mile or so leading to the cottage is down a single track road so not good for anyone a bit nervous about reversing though it is a very quiet road. We don't have a dog but we could see it was very suited to anyone who did have. The owners have several dogs and so have a good idea what to provide It is a good half-hour to drive to the coast but is well situated for exploring north Devon. There is a lovely conservatory for anyone who wants to simply enjoy the peace of the countryside. We had a lovely holiday

Fantastic cottage, rooms are much bigger than you'd expect, log burner in living room is great. And the Cream Tea waiting for us was a lovely surprise. Really put a smile on our already happy faces. The bedroom is amazing although we found the mattress a little hard for our own personal taste. (Can't please everyone tho'). The kitchen is roomy and we are all our meals at the dining table (we don't at home!). The conservatory is lovely although a little cold in January. There is a portable oil heater but we used that in the kitchen. The views are gorgeous and very peaceful. James (owner) and his family are friendly and attentive but not invasive. We had a problem starting the shower on the first day, James was straight round and sorted it out for us. (The start button had come off and not been put back on properly). The bathroom is huge and the shower is the best I've used in any holiday cottage so far. The reasons I've not scored 10's across the board are, the mattress not being to our liking (no doubt it will suit other people tho'). And the location is a bit isolated. Not exactly a suitable walk to or from the pubs in Landkey. Again this is only our preference and not a critism of the cottage but a reflection of our wants and needs. There is a local taxi service (I put one of their business cards in the welcome folder. Barnstaple was £11 each way prebooked). And finally, dog friendly! Most certainly. We had intended to bring our cocker with us but due to her age we divided not to, but we noticed on arrival a dog bed and dog bowls waiting for us. It's the little touches like that that make a house a home for the week. Thank you James.

A lovely cottage. The owners have clearly taken great thought over making the cottage a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. The cream tea upon arrival was very welcomed - a real treat. I would highly recommend this beautiful cottage. A couple of points - the mattress was slightly uncomfortable and the dishwasher didn't always clean thoroughly. Despite this, I will definitely be back - the board games, books and DVDs were a really good touch and the dog loved the garden!
