Overall we had a good time staying at Town End Barn. The weather was cloudy & some rain during the week which may have contributed to the poor lighting in the downstairs rooms. The shrubs & trees outside close to the windows restricted what light was outside to enter the rooms. If this was cleared I'm sure the rooms will once again appear to match those in the promotional photos. The kitchen was adequate enough for breakfast but didn't feel it was large enough to serve a cooked meal for 4 adults in the evening. However, the upstairs was bright spacious both in the lounge & the bedroom. The roof lights made this possible giving a natural light to a relaxing room. We made this our base to explore the various market towns & villages of the Peaks with the help of a host of maps & local walking books, too much to see in one week! We all enjoyed our week there.

Michelle and Tim were wonderful hosts. The barn was impeccably clean and very well equipped. We asked for a cot and a highchair for our daughter and Michelle kindly provided us with blankets. The barn itself is beautiful with its original features that have been beautifully restored and refurbished in a very sympathetic way. The grounds are beautiful and the views are absolutely terrific. Very well situated for seeing the Peak District. We loved it and we would recommend to others. Thank you again for a brilliant holiday.

Fantastic cottage for those who want to get away from it all and see some countryside. The owners are very friendly, thoughtful and helpful 😊

The layout of the barn would not suite everyone. Access from the downstairs kitchen to the upstairs living area is via a bedroom. But if that suites the make up of your group then this is a very comfortable well equipped cottage in a pleasant situation. A good base for exploring the Peak District, on foot or by car.
