A great stay thank you. Everything was clean and tidy and a lot of room for 7 people. Only shame was we chose the cottage because of the open fire. Took our logs down with us and were not told in advance the fire couldn't be used. Irritating little issue, big impact on stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were not informed about the lack of open fire, which was due to a faulty grate that made it potentially dangerous. The grate has now been replaced by a new log burner which should give friendly warmth for years to come.

Great place to stay with the dogs and so relaxing. Love the upside down lay out. Beautiful location. Only downside was the double bed, would have preferred a king size and better mattress. Overall though wonderful place 😀

Very nice spacious cottage in pleasant location. Parking could be improved by amending turning area and some steps to reduce musty smell in main bedroom would easily make this a 10 out of 10 cottage

Very disappointed with the property, damp with awful musty smells downstairs, had to have the windows open as much as possible. Seating had seen better days ,no support in the settees and matching chairs. No dryer just a washing machine. For the money paid not what we expected! The place could do with a total refurb. The oven was dirty as well.

A fantastic holiday cottage - the pictures on the website really need updating, because it is so much bigger than it looks, with a spacious lounge and kitchen/diner, plus 3 good sized bedrooms - the triple being great for children with it's toy box and bookshelf. The gardens front and back are spacious and secure for children and dogs. There are a few safety issues in the gardens though; several of the wooden chairs are broken and the front bench broken with sharp pieces of wood. There is also a broken paving slab by the rear bench, which one of our party slipped on and several of the large stones edging the rear lawn are loose and slide away if stepped on. Car parking (keep an open mind when entering the drive at the rather messy state of next door) can be trying and reversing is the best option. The village is vibrant, with a fun and relaxed feel, with a busy pub, and the Piglet Store and Cafe is wonderful, if a little pricey. You do need transport and constantly giving way in the narrow lanes can be a bit tedious, but to be expected at busy times, and the quiet and pretty location more than makes up for it. There are so many extras in the cottage and it is really well equipped. The double bed definitely needs replacing with a king size with a more comfortable mattress - there is room, and just shaving a bit off the shower room door would prevent it sticking and the need to give it a good kick/shove when using, without waking the rest of the household up! Overall, brilliant, we really didn't want to leave.

The Shippen was like a home from home. Beautiful scenery and perfect location. The cottage was very comfortable and provided everything needed for a relaxing stay.
