Owl House is one of the best cottages we've stayed in in the UK. It was really splendid. Spacious, very stylish, well appointed and warm in the snowy weather (we loved the underfloor heating). The view from the back of the house is across the garden and then open fields. Birdlife is abundant, including the resident eponymous owls which visitors can watch via 'owl cam' on the TV. Numerous artworks by the owner decorate the walls and there are well-stocked bookshelves. We would certainly recommend Owl House.

I think this is probably the best cottage we have stayed in. I always have a little niggle in each place - not enough glasses, only one frying pan, stiff towels, no soap, etc - sound petty, I know, but things that just annoy you a little bit. My biggest bugbear - nowhere to hang coats and leave shoes, especially in bad weather and especially in areas where you may well be out in the countryside getting wet and muddy. So my heart swelled at first entrance to be greeted with a huge hall, more coatpegs than you could wish for, and ample room for all our shoes and boots! Hurrah! And from then on, everything just got better. Beautiful décor and comfortable furniture - check. Spacious open plan downstairs great for kids to run around in - check. Excellent underfloor heating which meant we were toasty warm all week, unlike in other open plan cottages - check. Huge kitchen for easy mealtimes - check. Plenty of glasses and frying pans (!) - check. Welcome homemade biscuits and fresh milk - check. Beautifully neat bedrooms with loads of space - check. Super low lighting on the stairs and in the master bedroom, super for dealing with a toddler and a baby - check. Selection of toys and games to keep children entertained - check. Lovely terrace and garden - check. Friendly and helpful owner - check. Peaceful and picturesque location - check. TV channel devoted to the resident owls - check! Can't recommend it more highly, although hope this won't mean it will always be booked when I want to go!

Brilliant cottage, lovely owners. No complaints other than a complimentary tea tray would have been appreciated. Scones and jam provided but no milk to make a drink.

The is one of the best we have stayed at. A couple of recomendations 1) A bench under the porch so you could sit and take your walking boots off. 2) One more frying pan. 3) Frosted glass in the downstairs cloakroom.

An excellent property in a beautiful location. The house had everything that we needed and the views from the garden were amazing. The owners, made us feel very welcome and the kids loved playing with Mojo the dog. The town of Bishops Waltham was close and had nice shops and places to eat. Throughly enjoyed our stay at The Owl House and would love to return in the future.

The Owl House was an excellent property. The kitchen and showers particulary good, not forgetting Owl TV. We were lucky enough to be there when the young owls were ringed and measured. The garden/seating area was divine. The hosts were helpful, friendly and discreet.
