The location of the cottage was great. It was very well equipped and the owner came to welcome us. The only negative was that the whole place could have done with a spring clean especially the oven.

Great place to stay every thing you need and more. Had Sunday Lunch in the pub just down the road and that was great too. The owner braved the rotten weather on our arrival day just check everything was ok .

We had a wonderful stay, the barn is lovely, the only thing was the mattresses were not brilliant, the bed that makes into a double was very hard, we had 3 couples so this was needed, otherwise everything was great. We were very central for Chester, Liverpool and the Zoo, the local pub is excellent for meals. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful location and fabulous accommodation for a family holiday. Lovely quiet, rural location despite being only a few minutes drive from amenities and main roads. The view from the front steps towards the Mersey is spectacular. We didn't pick up that there are steps (up, down, up) between living space and the master bedroom which wasn't ideal for our party, but otherwise as described. Loss of wifi for a couple of days not fixed hence 9 for equipment otherwise everything we could have wanted was provided.

This was our second visit the The Old Stables. The location is great - very rural with a pub you can walk to and plenty of others a short drive away. The property is spacious and well laid out and a good size for our party of 6. The only blip on our stay was the boiler failing and due to the bank holiday it took half the week to be fixed and hot water/heating to be restored. Although away at the time the Owner did his best to get the matter resolved and allowed us use of his home to shower and his neighbours dropped fires round for us to borrow. The property is a good base to get to lots of places including Chester, Liverpool and all the pretty villages and attractions around - however you definitely need a car. I would happily recommend The Old Stables.
